I'm guessing Israel and the west are at fault for the civil unrest and sectarian violence in many Islamic countries? Going by your logic ...

I don't think your average french street cop is armed, and it takes a bit of time to muster and move out an armed reaction team.
This attack was up and over in about a half an hour if I read right.
The planning and coordination of this attack made it tough to get armed intervention on the street.

I'm not arguing we should support the Palestinians, just the Israelis are no better and we should wash our hands of the pair of them.
And yes most of the chaos in the Middle East is the wests fault from our support of the Shah of Iran and Saddam Hussain to our invasion of Iraq for no good reason, our continued support of the house of Suad, you can go back a century and see our sticky inept fingers over all of this.
These terrorists are French Algerian, look up the Algerian war of independence, just maybe that had a role in their disenchantment with the west?

I think if something like this happened here there would be more than 1-2 police cars responding with a better response time. Maybe it's different over there.

Actually the French police are pretty well tooled up but the cop that was killed was likely not aware of what he was running into, just the average beat cop heading towards the sound of trouble.

Its different over here.
Law enforcement is on more of a hair trigger in North America in terms of crisis response.

I'm not sure it would be that different, Paris is a large city hard to get around by car, that would slow response somewhat but otherwise it's the usual delays due to unclear reports of shots fired from about 20 different places.

i'm pissed off that someone could pull off an attack like this and drive away humming a tune.
I Think it's time for big changes in the free world, we can't just keep living hoping this s#$$ doesn't happen. Don't know what the answer is. what do we have to do, armed soldiers standing on every corner? jesus
