I know I'm coming in late on this, but I just noticed that hashtag, and I couldn't resist . . . and I therefore present to you the Flames Fan's Song (When Leaving After a W), 2014-15 edition:

I thought games were only won in fairy tales
Points for someone else but not for me
The hockey gods despised me
That's the way it seems
Lotto draft picks haunted all my dreams

Then I saw his game
Now I'm a Bobliever
There's no shame
In trying to win
I saw his game
Now I'm a Bobliever
I'm gonna leave here
With a grin

I thought pucks were more or less to give away
Seems the more we played the less we scored
What's the use in trying?
Losing's not a crime
Waiting for McDavid filled my time

Then I saw his game
Now I'm a Bobliever
There's no shame
In trying to win
I saw his game
Now I'm a Bobliever
I'm gonna leave here
With a grin

The frozen pic would have looked like it is all I'm saying. Gagliardi (and yes, I'm giving him too much credit for being able to possibly finish(!) would have been alone with all other Flames facing away.

Instead they didn't really say much of anything, mostly that the Jets had a great chance but the puck bounced on them.

Add this to other similar "analysis" before this play and throughout the game and thus my conclusion that they're terrible.
agreed

Other than the fact that Backland was right next to Galiardi. He wasn't 'wide open' in front of the net, something 'this guy scored' pics need.

Lol did anyone watch the interview with Giordano by Scott Oake after the game? Just saw it.

Scott Oake: "For what will this game be remembered for and there can only be one answer"

Giordano: "This game? A win in the final game of the road trip..

Scott Oake: "I'm talking about an individual winner..

Giordano: Individual?

Scott Oake: Johnny Guadreau, ever hear of him?

Loved that interview. Individual stats don't matter to Giordano.

Look, I don't think it was actually bad play. The puck was never meant to be near Gagliardi.

But in the pic Backlund is skating away from Gagliardi, towards the guy who was going to be the puck carrier. So some Oiler fan would have posted the pic of Gagliardi with a tap in and everone else facing away, saying "this guy scored".

In real time, Gagliardi is covered. Frozen at 14 secs or so it looks like everyone's skating away from him. For sure Backlund probably would have gotten to him. Its nowhere like a real "this guy scored" Oiler situation.

On another note, why do Jets fans have the worst "drunk face"?

Seems to be a tonne of ugly folks in that crowd.

Scott Oake has a special talent for making interviews extremely ****ing awkward.

Gio should have then said "Ummm yeah. Almost every player gets a first goal of the season."

The best part is that Giordano is practically incredulous in his response to Oake.

I actually didn't mind him that much in Calgary. Just not enough to learn to spell his name right.

I would also agree. There are ebbs and flows throughout games. To expect one team to be flowing in one way the entire time is kinda ridiculous. If we could dominate a team for 60 mins, we wouldn't be in the lottery discussions. Besides, what's wrong with a 40 min game? Check out the Jets forums - they're talking about how they played a 20 min game. And as far as I know, 40 > 20... Math!
