I think it depends on your prospect pool as well. If you have a lot of NCAA/European kids the summer development camp becomes more important as thats the only time you see them during the year. However if you have more major junior kids its understandable that a bigger emphasis is placed on Rookie camp and main camp.

I think its time zone based on when it was originally aired . mine was a 9 :39.09 as well . I live in B.C. That would of been the actual real time . The feed is over at 9:45 on the link when I clicked it.

Even Bennett said the speed was an adjustment. Now having gone through it it will be easier for him at rookie camp. Not to mention, seeing the coaching style, drills, and systems.
I think it's especially useful to newly drafted players. So far, they've been comparing themselves to their peers. Now they have an idea of how strong and fast players are at the next level. It will help them develop training goals.

Not sure if anyone cares but the 2 Brad's and Conroy was at cowboys tent yesterday. Got a chance to talk to Treliving for a bit about prospect camp. Awesome guy - thought stampede was going to be just a little carnival but was amazed. Was great to see them there talking to fans and drinking beer. Conroy hogged the picture attention and didn't look like many people recognized Brad Pascall. Poor guy!

Said Gaudreau was the most impressive prospect which is no big surprise but also really likes what he saw from Bennett. Nothing we don't already know.

Likes Wolf's size and compete. Told him and all the other big guys to tone it down a lot of course. Asked him what D looked good and he went straight to Kulak and Culkin and admitted they look the same as well! Were satisfied with what they saw in McDonald but conceded he needed work.

Said they brought in some big guys to protect the kids and thinks at least 1 or 2 guys not named Monahan will be on the team out of training camp. Confirmed Bennett of course needs junior and was iffy if he'd get his 9 games. Awesome hearing him say it's going to take awhile but the team is going to get there, they're not rushing anything.

Love this management group.

Treliving seems like a very knowledgable and grounded individual. I really like his attitude and his outlook on the game. Nice to hear that he thinks 1 or 2 extra rookies might make the team out of camp. My guess is Wotherspoon and Gaudreau. If not Gaudreau, Wolf. But I think a guy like Wolf would be kept up in a rotation with Bollig and McGrattan, while Gaudreau would be everyday or not at all.

of the "1 or 2 spots", gaudreau/reinhart/granlund/knight at the minimum could be guys who are able to push their way on to the opening day roster with strong training camps in my opinion.

I think bennet will be going down, just a hunch of course.

Pretty sure the Babcock's have a home in Pincher Creek. I have an old friend who is family friends with them. They actually spend a lot of time around here I think.

I like Hartley, but maybe Babcock will be the coach to take this franchise from rebuild to the promise land. Still no extension for him DET and Hartley not extended yet either.

Yeap, heard that back just after the season ended too. Didn't even think about Calgary as a possible destination but then remembered that Babcock has a solid history in this part of the continent, having coached in Red Deer and Lethbridge.

Anyways, just a thought.

I am in the process of writing break downs on each of the 18 guys that were playing that are under control of the Flames and will also break down a couple of the walk on players as well.

The first 4 have been posted, the Group A forwards

Bill Arnold
Austin Carroll
Morgan Klimchuk
Bryce Van Brabant

I will be posting Group B's forwards next.
