So, no bodies then?

Yeah I'm thinking this too, if only for the fact that I just feel like police would be on site for more than 24-36 more hours if the bodies had been found there? They were at the Brentwood stabbing house for six days, a case that wasn't a big mystery for which they had no leads, and a much smaller and contained crime scene.

CPS Presser:
- Amber Alert is still up as the investigation might not lead to where they want them to. They are just following up on a tip.
- Huge presence at Airdrie residence is because they believe the tip has some weight and relevance to the investigation.
- Arrest is a person of interest, just want to follow up on it. Just want to talk to him to get some information.
- They have not found the family, hence why Amber Alert is up
- CPS has the truck they were looking for
- Not sure why they are flagging the property in Airdrie
- Airdrie and Parkhill searches were separate. Both are just to find more information.
- Person in custody is somewhat cooperating

My intepretation of the presser: We claim to not know anything about anything, just following up on a lead. Are they still alive? "We [claim to not] know one way or another."

This doesn't seem like the guy I'd choose for a presser of this magnitude.

I believe that question was "Is the person in custody known to police". He began to answer yes then corrected himself to not knowing anything.

He was about to say the suspect is known to police
Edit: I also want to say he said suspect because the damn media kept repeating suspect after he continuously said person of interest

He implied that they're following up this tip just like they have followed up every tip so far, but obviously something about this particular tip brought literally all the forensic resources available to 2 large police agencies to one residence to painstakingly search it over a period of 2 days.

Yeah it was basically,
"He's a suspect?"
"He's a person of interest."
"What does person of interest of mean?"
"It means he's a person of interest."

I find it very telling that the "person of interest" is only partially cooperating. If you were innocent wouldn't you fully cooperate?

It's in everyone's best interest, if they're being questioned by the police, to get a lawyer. Innocent or not.

Some people just have an inherent dislike for police. (exhibit A: Moncton shooter)
I agree that saying nothing is this guy's best course of action though.

This is a video everyone should watch once...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wXkI4t7nuc
Though I'd probably be inclined to cooperate anyway if I knew I was innocent...this crime has to be solved and I wouldn't want them dicking around investigating me when their time would better be spent chasing other leads down.

no, it's a common thing for witnesses to fear retaliation from criminals

I most likely wouldn't.
High profile case, many people who are understandably worked up about it and a lot of cops who would probably be willing to do a lot to solve it. I'd be asking for a lawyer right away.
I have lots of respect for the police and they do a job I could never do. I've helped them out on a few occasions, but the possibility of having something go wrong in this kind of situation is just too great.

Had an idea!

Yup. Always a good idea to have your lawyer involved. The process and our rights exist for a reason.

Does "not cooperating" mean they've lawyered up? I think if you were innocent you could still cooperate with the help if a lawyer? But I don't really know how the criminal system works.
