Would rather have Murray than Mitchell if it's short term. Do a year contract like they did with Hannan a few years ago.
Murray is a monster and still seems to be able to hammer guys pretty good. That's what we need to replace Butler. We don't really have a super punishing defenseman in our line-up. A few tough guys but no one that would really strike fear into opponents.
Don't see how Wideman fits into the plans next season.

No kidding. Say what you want about Butler but someone has to fill his minutes and defensive zone starts as well so it's hard to imagine the team being in a hurry to unload any of its veteran defensemen.

Plus they need Widemans cap hit to make the floor. He isn't worth it but he's still far more useful to a team than say a Nikitin at 4.5.
