There's a time you also have to answer dirt with dirt.
Commendable by hitchcock that his team hasn't gone there yet, but, it can't go unanswered.
Backes is done for the series in all likely hood. Someone has to answer for that. It's not about vengeance, it's about your team identity.
All those hawks players have each other's back, no matter what. Someone on St. Louis has to march that out as well.

He was, guy beside Backes told Toews to "show some class" and you could tell he was mouthing.

That was cosmic justice. Although it should have been Duncan Keith, who has been the dirtiest player on the ice... maybe dirtiest in the playoffs all around. What a chode.
And yeah I can't believe Toews mouthing off. At that point you should be concerned if the guy's alright. I know Backes isn't the most well-liked guy given how hard he plays but come on, he can barely stand, don't beak him. And yes he was trash talking him, Steen and the trainer were both firing back at him and telling him to back off.
Not sure what to do with that hit though. They called it charging, looks pretty borderline as far as skates off the ice.

The arm doesn't matter. Where Backes was looking doesn't matter. It was an obvious hit to the head which is now considered a penalty. If the players are going to have no respect for each other then there needs to be severe penalties. Hitting should only be between the shoulders and hips.
