A big **** measuring contest amongst fans. Seriously, almost every thread in the main forum is fans subtly bragging about something to do with their team, and then everyone else downplaying it.
And the moderation is horrid. Like how do they allow some of the most juvenile, easily worked up posters to be mods, who then ban people based on anger and pettiness or because they feel like it?
Think of who we have here; All long term, respected posters as mods, who moderate without bias or emotion, just based on whether someone breaks the clearly posted rules.
I don't know, maybe I'm missing something, but I've just always found it to be useless. I mean, I could see the "you get perspective of others teams fans and not just Flames fans" angle, but that doesn't matter when it's a bunch of children slinging mud.
You get more scathing criticism of the Flames from lots of Flames fans on CP than from opposing fans on HF anyways.

Because there's a diverse user group where a lot of them are actually in the markets where some of these prospects are.
There's a lot of validation seeking there for sure, but there's also some good information to be had. It's not a place I'm really active in, but I read it.

Pretty sure HF is mostly kids. You can just tell that most of those posters are teenagers who don't watch much NHL other than their own team.
CP has a much older demographic.

I love prospect info but wading through the crap at HF to find it is almost unbearable. Can't believe how active I used to be on there about a decade ago.
Definitely agree with the kids comments. You can tell most users are immature or uninformed. There is the occasional good poster.
Really the best thing it is for is for finding links to scouts/GM interviews that you might miss otherwise. I put almost no stock into what anybody on that board actually says.

Yeah, but it's an exercise in futility to find good info. Just a brutal board.

I'm not advertising them, just saying why I go.

Does Humphreys have a flu or is his voice always like that?

I value Lou's a knowledge a ton, but there's no way in hell I can listen to that voice, and his quirky habit of answering his own questions, every day for a couple hours.
He makes a great guest for a half hour or so, once or twice a week, but in a perfect world that's all I can take of him.
I really think Kerr is much better on radio too. I wouldn't mind him and Steinberg doing it again. Much better than what's going on there now for sure.

I agree Loubardios has some quirks but he is a true pro. Compare Monday afternoon this week which he hosted to the bush league garbage that's be on the rest of the week.
I hope 960 puts him on in the afternoons during the off-season.

I think Lou would be ok on the radio alone. Once he gets going he tends to kind of dominate the conversation.

Rob Kerr has been fired from Sportsnet Flames broadcasts, he needs to come back to afternoons on 960 where him and Pat were awesome together.

Kerr and Dowbiggen were the pinnacle of 960.

For a brief, shining moment in time, 960 had Mike Richards, 3 hours of Rome, Joe Sports, and Rob Kerr. The weakest point of the entire broadcast day was Dave Rowe, and even he was decent. How things have fallen.

Like a championship team it's just hard to keep all that talent together. Those were very good times for Calgary sports radio.

I thought Joe Sports passed away before Mike Richards came to Calgary?
