C) Making a drinking gesture at player that has had struggles with drinking in the past isn't innocuous, drinking and alcoholism is a serious problem and throwing it in someones face is utterly classless. If I had a drinking problem and my friend in a public place was making jokes about it, we certainly wouldn't be friends anymore and my friend would have more then a broken jaw. Stop making excuses for the piece of garbage.
Your team is loaded with classless losers, cheap shot artists and coached by a loudmouth bully. Its too bad someone like McGratton didn't punch him in the mouth for coming anywhere near the dressing room. Torts needs a good punch in the mouth.

Does SOB have a drinking problem??? Or was it a clubbing problem? Sounds like the latter to me. Burrows is a despicable hockey player and the gesture, but unless SOB does in fact have a drinking problem it seems innocuous
Edit: he said himself he dies not have a drinking problem:

To be fair, you're essentially asking "Does he have a drinking problem" or "Does he have a problem going out and drinking"

Wow, you Canuck fans are delusional. Yeah I bet they hit the clubs every weekend and SOB named his first born after Burrows and he is the god father to all his children. They just seem like great friends. Like who wouldn't taunt their friend on national television about their drinking problem.

Most 26 year olds do, and they carry vastly different repercussions, have vastly different outcomes. There's no equivalence there

Haha. Fine. Most people that frequent bars are near that age. That bland enough?
My point was reasonable. Staying out too late one night makes one an alcoholic like visiting Vegas makes one have a gambling addiction.
Being 26 and staying out too late does not mean O'Brien an alcoholic. It makes him an irresponsible 26 year old. Like many, many, many, many other men of that age.

What drinking problem? I recall SOB being accused of partying too much, but I don't know if that is classified in the same realm as a drinking problem, that is too big of a stretch for me.
Do you never trash talk with your buddies? Honest question.

Do you think he meant he partied too much or drank too much? SOB is known league wide for his drinking and partying ways. If you don't know that, you haven't been paying attention. He was a bar star in Vancouver and drank like a fish.
Burrows is a POS who I wish gets a career ending injury and then all 700 or so NHL players show up in his hospital room and taunt that finger biting hair pulling coward.
This isn't the first time a Canuck taunts another player either.
And no I don't trash talk my friends about their drug or alcohol problems or about having their jaw busted. I trash talk them when I beat them in NHL14, not when their girlfriend leaves them or sleeps with another man. Something another Vancouver scumbag player did.

It wasn't just one night though, it was YEARS.
Aside from that, Burrows and O'Brien have a pretty vicious history with each other. To say the gesture was innocuous isn't founded it much.
I see what you're TRYING to say, but you're ignoring the actual history involved.

I don't know O'Brien at all, much like you don't I presume. I also don't know what relationship Burrows and O'Brien have, considering that they were on the same team for a couple of years, I would bet that it was decent, especially since there has never been rumors of O'Brien not being popular in the dressing room.
I think that people are calling him an alcoholic because it is convenient to do so at the current time. Just typing O'Brien and Canucks into google brought up this video in which there doesn't seem to be any ill will between the two when Burrows is mentioned.

Yes, in the middle of a heated argument that was immediately preceded by a large brawl, a loser like Burrows is just bantering with a buddy.
C'mon Mustard, you can't honestly believe what you're trying to shovel here. And even if you inexplicably do believe, you should be smart enough to realize nobody here is going to buy it.

You don't really know much about O'Brien OR the time he spent in Vancouver do you?

And here's a lovely Vancouver based article that handles their "friendship" with a bit of humour:

Correct in that I have no idea what history they have. Strictly on the gesture and O'Brien's history alone it doesn't seem too bad. Want aware of their history

The funny thing is that as much as a coward Burrows is he isn't even the biggest coward on that team. Bieksa was a hero for sticking up for the rookie but forgot to actually follow through and fought Smid instead. And he still got knocked on his ass.

Oh no according to Vancouver Canuck fans Bieksa slipped on a hockey stick and Smid didn't make contact.
Kind of like Bertuzzi slipped on a hockey stick while trying to heroically hold up Moore in that horrible incident.
