Interesting choice as a former QB -- he is also the grandson of Ron Lancaster. Maybe he'll be asked to study and scout opposing teams's offences?

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce the signing of import defensive lineman Joe Sykes. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Sykes is a two-time Arena Football League all-star who has nine games of CFL experience with Saskatchewan (five games in 2009) and Edmonton (four games in 2011). He was the AFL’s defensive player of the year in 2012 with San Jose and the defensive lineman of the year in both 2012 with San Jose and in 2013 with San Antonio.

Joffrey Reynolds is finally getting deported.

Instead of going long, former Calgary Stampeders all-star Joffrey Reynolds is apparently long gone.

Crown prosecutor Hyatt Mograbee said Monday she has stayed several charges Reynolds breached his release conditions, because she was informed the U.S. native has been deported.

Reynolds was to stand trial on 11 breach charges Tuesday, but the hearing has been cancelled because of the allegations being stayed.

“Our position was if they deported him there’s no public interest (in prosecuting the matter) if he’s not in the country,” Mograbee said.

“They deported him, so we stayed the charges,” she said, of information she received from immigration officials.

“He’s been deported, he’s left the country.”

interesting...wonder if Sanders will be the incumbent now or will they give a strong look to someone else? Who was it that had 1 or 2 shots last year and looked really good?
Taylor was good, he will be missed as he did provide the Stamps with great field position, but his propensity for running out of bounds all the time peed me off .

Clifton Smith? Scott Mitchell (Calgary Sun) tweeted at the beginning of January it was rumored Clifton Smith signed with Saskatchewan. But I haven't seen any confirmation on the Clifton Smih signing anywhere.

Smith did sign with Sask. They signed him off of the Stampeders Practice roster at the end of the year.

Jock Sanders > Larry Taylor.

Taylor was good, but last year he seemed to struggle, never broke free very often, however did usually get "decent" returns.

Jock Sanders will be a good special teams returner and hes younger.

I thought that might happen. Its time to let the younger guys get the reps, and we have no shortage of solid young guys. I LOVE Nik but I think its time to move on...just hope he doesnt sign in Riderland. Head east to Ottawa!
