Well knock a cursed building off of the list! I think we just need a win in Anaheim and the curses are put to rest finally. Been far too long for a win in Chicago. Awesome that they did it.
Berra. Thank-you for reaffirming my belief in you. Its one game and its his first and will be expecting highs and lows along the way but I strongly believe he is the guy that wins the goalie battle.
Russel and Wideman are a far better pairing than I ever imagined. They're chewing those top pairing minutes up with some good success! Love it.
I like what Feaster cooked up for this rebuild so far. The Force is strong with this group. The right mix of players so far. A few that can go and make room. But this process theyre doing is working. Lett the kids get stronger on the farm and then call em up. Berra getting those minutes really aided his progression.

Great game. So many guys played their asses off tonight. Our top 4 D were outstanding.
I was so angry for that Stajan penalty .. both with Stajan because they have to call that even though I'm sure after the chintzy call on Butler they would rather have not .. and with the stupid Hawks in their stupid building with their stupid luck. F 'em. So glad we pulled out the W.

Stajan's penalty was one they had to call, but I laughed a little bit cause it looked like he just put his hands down as he was falling and fell on top of the puck and he just, froze, he was just confused. It was just a very awkward play.
Glad they pulled out the win and got Berra the win. Like how easy he made the game look. Never really looked out of control. Happy to see it. I think Berra and Ramo are a better tandem to have competing for the net IMO

Wow. Awesome post. That is actually incredible. Just so cool to see some production at the NHL level and also some very legitimate prospects. Not every day you see that kind of success with assets in the NHL. I guess Kulak, Gaudreau Ramage and Arnold still have not played an NHL game but those are still very legitimate prospects. Better than Hugo Carpentier at least. Geez I am turning into a bit of a prospect-aholic. Fun to try to envision their futures in the NHL.

Fun fact:
In both of their post game interviews, Berra and Hartley both struggle trying to say nervousness.

Hartley's best quote was what he said to the ref after the Hawks tied:
Thanks! Thanks! ####ing #### sucker!
I love it when the camera lingers just a bit too long. Funny thing is I had just screamed the same thing.

Havent watched a lot of Flames games this year but when i do watch, i am impreseed by their effort and intensity. Couldnt say that the last few years. Nice to see them showing up and playing like a team, unlike a certain other team in Alberta...

Berra at least got close. Hartley just gave up and went with "nervosity."

I know I'm smarter than this, especially this late in the season.
I have to admit over the past few seasons, once the Flames got down my interest in the game would fade knowing it was over.
Even when Chicago scored last night I thought "well there goes this game". Not that I actually thought the game was over, it was just my gut reaction.
I love that this team doesn't give up until the game is over.
When the game went to overtime, again my gut reaction was "at least we get a point" as opposed to "let's win this game with one more shot".
What's the point of this post? If me, as a fan, if I have yet to get over the mental hump of not giving up, thinking the game is over... imagine how hard it would be for the culture of the entire team to do, and then realize they did it.
I love this team, it's been a while since I truly loved the team. Playoffs or not, this season is a success so far, if Hartley keeps them playing like this, I'll be one happy fan.

Agree...the only thing he did wrong was not drop down and cup his nuts when Sharp stuck him there during the 5 on 3. Was a pretty blatant shot to the nutsack and could have drawn a penalty.
Greasy move by Sharp and I think Wideman thought about dropping the mitts but realized he shouldn't be in the box.

Overheard at the game:
'Hawks fan #1: Canada sucks! You're America's hat!
'Hawks fan #2: Dude...half our team is Canadian. Actually, that was a Canadian with the puck passing it to another Canadian right there.
'Hawks fan #1: *inaudible grumbling*

I've yet to come up with the perfect, most romantic proposal ever.
But once I do, they will be Mrs. Calgary Q~Scout!
