I agree that by now, the Oilers should have no problem making the playoffs, but the team has a whole showed very little progress before last season (and I'm still not convinced they wouldn't have finished bottom 5 had there been a full 82 game season.
That just seems like awfully high expectations for an awfully bad team. It sets you up for failure.

The saddest panda on the Oilers bench must be Dallas Eakins. Reality is just sinking in around about now.

Much as the Oilers have been bad, don't you get the sense that the Canucks as a team have no intensity or killer instinct? Still, I mean.
They're playing this game and the overwhelming sense I get from them is "We take no pleasure in this". It's like they feel BAD about crushing the other guys.

let's see...
down by 3, completely embarrassing effort, 3 minutes left, a PP opportunity...
I say Yakupov scores and celebrates like he saved the night

strongly disagree the Oilers were falling like a rock last year...Oilers are handing out 6M contracts left and right I'm pretty sure they should be expecting and delivering more

I wonder when Eakins is going to have second thoughts about choosing Edmonton over Vancouver and Dallas?
Here's a trivia question, can you name the last Oilers coach that got a head coaching job elsewhere in the NHL after he left?

I find it funny that Hrudey has lived here for years, but still pronounces it Cal-Gary like some easterner.

CBC has the worst PBP ever. So sick of the lifeless, monotone Mark Lee, and that smug #### Hrudey. They make Kerr look decent.
Although I think Simmer might be the worst of both groups.. And I hate Hrudey a lot.

Klowe should apologize to Oiler fans for that abomination
