I'm hoping for a Curb v. Seinfeld final. The two best comedies on Television.
It's a shame All in the Family lost out so early, that was a great show but it's a shame that most younger people probably haven't seen it.

Who did Game of Thrones lose to?
Archer doesn't even make the final 32.
Come on people.

The best network drama ever in The X-Files pulled off the upset.

lol my personal favorite four made it all the way. Unbelievable really.
Gotta go with Simpsons over Seinfeld. As much as I love Seinfeld I don't find that is has the same repeat value as watching the Simpsons. I find that the type of comedy in Seinfeld becomes less funny over time, so I find myself taking breaks whenever I watch the show. It might be just be, but for The Simpsons it never loses its comedic value for me, and if anything it grows funnier over time. Not the new episodes of course, but I tend to steer clear of those.
The other half is pretty much impossible to choose. The X-Files did finish on a down note, as the last 3 seasons were quite a downgrade over the prior years. And seeing that its a serial show, it does affect the quality of the previous seasons. That and the whole William storyline was pretty bad overall; it seemed they went that route to find a way to write Mulder's character off. I didn't mind the Super Soldier stuff though, but it didn't really go anywhere in the end. Oh and I Want to Believe the second movie was flat out awful.
Then with Breaking Bad it actually hasn't ended, so who really knows if the last half of the season will continue the pace that has been set already. I am going to assume it will, but there is a lot that needs to be resolved in 8 episodes in order to accomplish that. It would seem though that the writers have had a plan in place since day one, so my expectations are pretty high for the episodes that remain come the Summer.
Breaking Bad should slaughter The X-Files though I expect.

Great job doing this Hockey but the fact that X-Files is in the final four shows how useless these things can be at actually determining the best shows.
I don't think it should just be my favorites but X-Files should have been happy with being included in the initial list and losing in the first round. No way is it close to the top 30 let alone a top 4 show.

Well according to most lists created by "reliable" sources regarding these matters you'd be quite wrong in your assessment of it not making it out of the first round.
Empire had it ranked as the 9th all-time television show: http://www.empireonline.com/50greate...fault.asp?tv=9
This ranking by Complex magazine had it ranked as the 17th best drama http://www.complexmag.ca/pop-culture...me/the-x-files
Then TV Guide ranked it as the 37th best show of all time in countdown which was actually released a couple years before the show actually ended. http://www.cbsnews.com/2100-207_162-507388.html Sure there are 36 shows ranked higer than it, but not many of those shows made this survey (Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Sopranos, Friends, and Frasier all being ranked higher).
It also won and was nominated for a ton of Emmy's for a type of show that usually wouldn't receive Emmy nods (especially during the mid 90's). While you may not like it, it most definitely is not out of whack for it to be here. Game of Thrones will likely pass it in due time, but it beat Futurama last round which isn't really an upset.

I do like X-Files and watched all the episodes while it was on and then went to the movie after. I don't think it is a bad show just not nearly as good as many other shows that are already out and that it beat.
No problem with it beating Futurama but even with only 3 seasons Game of Thrones is much, much better and that should have been a shutout win.

The two I wanted in the final are there...and now hell sets upon me as I must make a near impossible choice.

Both shows are/were fantastic. Both were/are top of their game, but the more impressive show is Breaking Bad.

And with a final score of 39-21, Seinfeld Firefly defeats Breaking Bad to win CalgaryPuck's first ever battle of the TV shows.
Thanks for all who voted and I hoped you enjoyed it.
