They want to just win games.
Good on these guys it shows maturity and character.
It kinda looks like the Kids are having fun out there even if there's nothing to play for except for a roster spot next season. You leave the season on a winning note and you come into next season ready and competing for a roster spot.

Brodie plays 28 minutes, and Cundari plays 25.

Love it. Also, I'm really digging the role Cammalleri is playing right now as the veteran presence amongst all these kids, he seems to be thriving with it.

Putting Cammalleri with two kids was a good call. It is pretty much forcing him to match their enthusiasm.

As far as Cundari goes, it looks like he got all the minutes Sarich would have had had he not left the game early. Hell of a first performance, we'll see if he can keep it up against the likes of Chicago.

The thing is that people on here want an immediate impact to change the team. Realistically the flames are on target if they pick in the 6-10 range. We just moved our best forward and d-man and are riding the enthusiasm of players making their debut. If this season was 82 games we would be in the top three firmly as we would've been further behind everyone else. We should still get a 50+ point player depending on who and what players are available. That player will be a top 6 guy. we only have one of those right now in Sven. We still need 5 more guys that fit in that jelly mould and while we do have some options available, we still are going to need several players more and that will take more than one year to accomplish. Look for us to add an ekblad or reinhart 2.0 next year as the first star calibre guy and maybe add another in 2015 depending.

Street/Byron: I really expected a lot more from these two, but really didn't see anything special

Hanowski: As others have commented on already, he has an incredibly awkward stride, but never seems to be behind the play. I thought he looked very tentative tonight (and pretty much every night) but he always makes the smart play. I think if he spends enough time with the coaching staff this off-season he can take some positive strides.
I wish they didn't cut his long hair. He looks so normal and looks like a minor leaguer out there since the hair cut.

I totally agree with you on Ben Street and Paul Byron. I don't think they can make the team next season if they play like the way they played against Minny. For Street, i haven't been impress with him from all the games I've seen him play.

Reinhart : Was a little off the first 2 periods but he came back in the 3rd. If he keeps up his solid plays, we might see his as 3rd or 4th line centre next season.

Cervenka : I don't think Hartley likes him that much. I can't say I can blame him as Cervenka is up and down. There are times that he's unbeatable but most of the time he looks lost. I am hoping they will sign him for at least another season and see what he can do but I doubt the Flames will sign him again. He was a healthy scratch again vs Minnesota.

Horak : much improve. He looks really confident and I can't wait to see him play next season. He might be playing 1st line or 2nd line centre.

Cundari : too soon but he looks poised out there. The guy can hit, can shoot and I am especially impressed with his long passes.

Brodie : The future is now. He's been solid and the guy is tireless.
