so far in his NHL career he has been on the ice for 30 minutes, all even strength against NHL players, all with more experience than him. He has been on the ice for 1 more goal scored than against.

If he is too slow for the NHL then the guys he is outplaying must be ECHL calibre???

Good skaters or even great skaters (Bouwmeester ) who constantly are not as good as the players they play against will not win games.
