Sorry Don, not trying is what Calgary has done for the last 2 or 3 years. You are late again.
Bringing up all the kids to fight each other for a job is definitely trying. We could have just given up again and let the vets skate around aimlessly to earn a paycheque and said how the state of (insert excuse here) made it impossible to do anything else like we did before, but we aren't.

I'd be really happy. The pick in the end doesn't matter that much. If it's super important? They maneuver with trades but draft picks are a crapshoot anyways.
It's impossible to move to 9th or 10th anyways. NHL standings hardly have any movement due to conference schedule and loser point. Kids will play well but they won't run the table.
The Oilers are hoping to run the table just to move from 10th to 8th. Winnipeg almost has to run the table to make 3 points.
