It works in other languages and other sports. Like Liverpool are THE REDS. Or New Zealand ALL BLACKS.
All Italian Serie A teams are named by colour, Rossaneri, Neroazzuri, Bianocelesti eetc..
But in Football and the way you typed it, sounds weird!

It just doesn't seem to work well in English.
Rouge et Noir sounds kinda sweet for the Ottawa franchise. I hope the media just sticks to calling them that.

I have no problem with practicing entrances. You perform how you practice. I think it's actually smart. Do it once and it's covered for the year

The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club in partnership with MacDonald Island Park and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo announce the Northern Kickoff, to be held at the new Shell Place in Fort McMurray, Alberta on Saturday, June 13, 2015.
The CFL pre-season game, scheduled as a ‘home’ game for the Eskimos, will feature the Edmonton Eskimos against the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders and will be broadcast live on TSN from the new and currently under construction SMS Stadium at Shell Place.
Shell Place is a $127 million community development project scheduled to open in 2015 at MacDonald Island Park in downtown Fort McMurray.
The Northern Kickoff game and associated community and fan events will be presented by Shell Albian Sands.
“This will be an incredible event for Fort McMurray and the entire Wood Buffalo region,” said Melissa Blake, Mayor of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and Chair of the Northern Kickoff. “As the cornerstone of what will be the official opening of Shell Place, the Northern Kickoff is something much more than the most Northern game in CFL history; it’s an opportunity to share our community with the rest of Canada along with the amazing things happening here.”

Is Matt Nichols another Buck Pierce? Watching highlights from the game tonight and he barely got touched and went down with a apparent knee injury. He left the stadium on crutches.

Why would you give someone a $35.000 bonus in January and then release him after marijuana charges when the organization clearly said no disciplinary action was coming? Jonathan Hefney has been released.

That one doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I'm sure there will be a few teams interested in his service

Thanks to an enterprising fan who looked at the WatchESPN schedule for June, he discovered that ESPN2 will be airing a handful of CFL games this summer. Beginning June 29 and going into July, ESPN2 will have a slate of games, most will air on Saturdays.
Now what about last year’s CFL US rightsholder, NBC Sports Network? It appears NBCSN will continue carrying games as it did in 2012. According to Friend of Fang’s Bites Steve Lepore of SBNation, NBCSN’s first CFL game of 2013 will be on June 27, the league’s season opener. So this means that in some cases, CFL fans in the US can see as many as two games a week during the summer.
As it has since 2008, ESPN3 will stream CFL games online through the WatchESPN website or through its mobile/tablet app.
The CFL has not made an official announcement as of yet and neither has ESPN nor NBC Sports Group.
Based on information posted on the WatchESPN site and through ESPN’s public relations website, I can piece together the following preliminary ESPN2 schedule.
All times listed are Eastern.
Saturday, June 29 — Saskatchewan at Edmonton, 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, July 4 — Winnipeg at Montreal, 7 p.m.
Saturday, July 13 — British Columbia at Edmonton, 9:30 p.m.
Saturday, July 20 — Montreal at Calgary, 7 p.m.
Thursday, July 25 — Edmonton at Montreal, 7:30 p.m.
There is nothing for August as of yet.
For NBC Sports Network, we have one game confirmed thus far:
Thursday, June 27 — Montreal at Winnipeg, 9 p.m.
UPDATE, June 17, 5:25 p.m.: Hearing that the ESPN2 deal with the CFL is not final as of yet, but a spokesman tells Fang’s Bites that it’s hoped that it will be made official later this week.

In addition to the five games on ESPN2, the CFL will be returning to ESPN3.com where 58 other regular season games will be streamed live.
Last season, the NBC Sports Network picked up nine regular season games in addition to the entire 2012 CFL Playoffs.
In 2013, the CFL will return to the network as they will broadcast 14 regular season games, including the season opener next Thursday, June 29th when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers host the Montreal Alouettes.
Both Division Finals as well as the 101st Grey Cup Game in Regina will also be broadcasted as well.

Tim Burke left the majority of his starters at home and Kent Austin played most of his. What the hell was he trying to prove by doing that as most of these guys will be on the unemployment line in 4 days? He even admitted that he more then likely was going to be slaughtered employing a strategy like this the other day.

With only 2 pre-season games you would have thought they would have wanted to play more of their starters to get ready for the season.
