Oooh, I want an MP3 I own as a ringtone...in 5 seconds I can make that happen with like three button presses. This Android world is exactly the one I've been looking for. I can't believe how awesome this is.

I have a question for people that have the Samsung Galaxy S3. My mobile contract is expiring (perfect timing) so I'm considering my options as to stick with Iphone and get the Iphone 5 or move to Android with the S3.
I've been using an Iphone 3GS for the last 3 years, and I do tend to manage a lot of my music through itunes. I also purchase a lot of music through itunes.
If I switch to Android is it easy to get my itunes music onto that phone? Will it easily accept and play music purchased through the itunes store? I should mention I use a Mac as well. Not sure if that makes it any more difficult to get the music onto the Galaxy S3.
Is the music player on the Galaxy S3 any good? Good sound quality?
I'd appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this aspect of the phone.

Kies automatically asks if u want to import iTunes playlists when u first use it. Also I am sure u can export from iTunes and just drag it directly to gs3. As per music players if u don't like the stock ones there are a ton of free and paid ones u can try until u find the perfect one.

Depends if the tracks you bought from iTunes are the DRM free ones or ones with DRM

There may only be a few real Apple stores, but you can get iphones from loads of places in China. Real iphones, not just fake ones. There are loads of places to buy them and everyone knows the iphone. Exposure is not the problem, but price certainly is. Even before the iphone 5 came out the price was tagged here in China at 7,000rmb, which is well over $1,000CDN. The S3 by comparison sells at 3,500rmb.
People here who can afford it buy the iphone as a luxury and a small visible status symbol. People want others to know how much money they spent on a phone. While the percentage of total phones being used in China may be low for Apple, it's still a good market and there is no lack of recognition and desire for the iphone here.

I always use Zedge when I'm searching for a ringtone. I told a couple iOS buddies about it and when they went to look for it, it wasn't in the Apple App store, not available for the iPhone. Simple stuff like that is why I stick with Android.
Also get on the SwiftKey X bandwagon. The stock Android keypad is okay but SwiftKey is just stunning. It will takes some getting used to but when you do the prediction ability is mind-blowing. I've done entire sentences on this forum with the prediction software.

They are also talking about an upgrade to the Galaxy Nexus.
Personally as much as I like the S3, I would prefer it if Google pushed Samsung, HTC and others including Motorola to release 'Nexus' devices that run stock Android and receive direct upgrades from Google.
The Nexus S is running Jelly Bean IIRC, and it is a few years old already.

Would a potential S4 have any affect on iPhone or S3 sales between now and then?

My guess is that it might curb S3 sales, as many people will want to wait a few months for the newest and best thing. Probably will get worse as the deadline for the new release gets closer.

It does seem a bit strange. Maybe they want to poke Apple in the eye but they have a best selling phone already why not milk it for a full year? Unless their strategy is to keep the foot to the floor and leave Apple in the dust over the next few years even if it cannibalized S3 sales in the short term.
