Still not as bad as that blown perfect game.

In other news, the Twins are terrible this year.. *sigh*

Sad way for Rivera to go out, shagging fly balls.

Same injury, other hand

One year to the day after Pablo Sandoval had surgery to remove a fractured hamate bone in his right hand, the team said Sandoval fractured the same bone in his left hand.

Todd Hollandsworth does the morning show on MLB radio on XM and said this morning he came back from this in 2 weeks and it's possible with proper rehab. I'm fairly certain if it took Sandoval 6 weeks last time it's gonna take close to the same this time. I'm pretty sure Hallandsworth thinks he was a way better MLB player than he actually was, despite winning the NL rookie of the year.

Head athletic trainer Dave Groeschner said there is "hope for some optimism" that he can return sooner this time because the fracture occurred in his non-throwing hand.

Since the start of the 2010 season, or two seasons and one month, there have been 29 games where a pitcher has pitched at least 9 innings and given up one hit or fewer. That's the same number such games as the majors saw from 2005 to 2009 or a span of 5 seasons!

Rivera vows that he'll be back. Robertson has been an absolutely lights out set up guy for the Yankees, will be interesting to see if he can do the same thing at the end of the game. I do hope Rivera can make it back on go out after pitching in his final game.

Orioles aren't used to winning.

"Nice job. Put 'er there."

...

"Right on."

Chris Davis went 0 for 8, but at least he threw 2 innings and got the win. Adrian Gonzalez just went 0 for 8. Bobby Valentin must be really popular in Boston right now.

Mike Rizzo the Nationals GM calls Cole Hamels fake tough, not old school after he purposelessly hit Bryce Harper on Sunday night. Your thoughts on these?

Compared to hockey players, no baseball player is "tough".

Chris Davis K's Adrian Gonzalez on three pitches in the 17th inning last night. Here's the 3rd pitch:

What the heck was that? A splitter!?
Make him the closer!

Cole Hamels suspended for 5 games for his actions on Sunday night.

Guillermo Mota suspended 100 games. He becomes the third MLB player suspended twice for positive drug tests.
