Another set of Player of the Week wins for the Stamps:
http://www.stampeders.com/article/co...receive-awards
Top Canadian for Cornish, and Defensive Player for Charleston Hughes.
http://www.cfl.ca/article/montreals-...rs-of-the-week
Montreal Alouettes slotback SJ Green was Offensive Player of the Week and Hamilton kick returner Chris Williams is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
That's four awards for Cornish so far this season.

Cornish was named Canadian Player of the Month for August. Good to see him back up his mouth after the BC game.

Congrats to former Stamps DT Tom Johnson, who officially made the Saints final roster today.

This was in the Game Thread, but looks like it's finalized now:
David William Naylor @TSNDaveNaylor
Stevie Baggs has a agreed to terms with Calgary, look for an announcement over the next couple of days. #cfl #stamps

Driving up with my brother and friends for the rematch right now. First time I've ever tethered my phone to my notebook. Anything I need to know about Commonwealth?

Even Eskimos need a shower once in a while.
Anything else?

Fantastic news for the Stamps D-line. Baggs is a Stamp, great pass rusher.
Just being involved with that great Ravens D for preseason is going to make him that much more of a force back in the CFL.
Very happy with this move!

I guess the Trading of Tory Davis should have sparked some rumors. Team is already thin on the d line with the injury to McCoy and trading Davis for nothing was strange.

Stevie Baggs will be on practice roster for now because he is still hurting. But don't be surprise if he gets in the lineup next week against the Blue Bombers because our DL are so banged up right now. Dorian Smith got hurt during the pre-game. Kenny Pettway got hurt during the game. Attitude aside(rumour on why he didn't play in Hamilton's last game) I think Stevie Baggs will make Charleston Hughes a lot better or vice versa. The other team will be afraid of double-teaming Hughes because Baggs will be free to go after the QB. If they stick with double-teaming Hughes, then Baggs will have a time of a day to pick and choose when he can punish the QB.

Cornish was named Canadian Player of the Week again (shocker!). Third week in a row and fourth time in five games. Not bad!
http://stampeders.com/article/anothe...-another-award
Quote:
Cornish’s latest honour comes as a result of his career-best 185-yard rushing performance in Friday night’s 20-18 win at Commonwealth Stadium in the Labour Day rematch game against the Edmonton Eskimos. His big night included a 56-yard touchdown run.
With the performance, Cornish now has 827 rushing yards on the season and leads his closest competitor by 147 yards

With Larry Taylor out with an injured knee, the Stamps have signed veteran KR Jesse Armstead.

So they signed Jessie Armstead who played LB in the NFL for KR, I think you meant to say Jason Armstead.

Hard to say isn't it. Just the fact Huff reacted right away with adding Armstead has me thinking Taylor is gone for the rest of season. 8 weeks at the earliest maybe just a guess.
I don't believe Armstead has played any football for a year?
