Dancevic is playing better than I expected - kudos to him for being ready.

Yup. Especially if they knew that he had some knee trouble, don't make him play 3 matches. Doubles is a quick start and stop game and if you're not used to it, you can get injured in a hurry.

Dancevic played his heart out. Hard not to be proud of him...he really frustrated Tsonga at times.

Close. Matchups played before 1970 don't count towards location. If two countries have never played or last played before 1970, I think they flip a coin or something.

Tough loss crowd was really into it. Monfils is now playing pospisils. Is it normal that they continue playing after match is over?

Yup. They like to give fans a good show, so it turns into an exhibition match more than anything else. It will be some good experience for Vasek.

Dead Rubber Policy

http://www.daviscup.com/en/news/arti...er-policy.aspx

Quote:
The new policy states that if a tie is decided after the fourth rubber (ie one nation has a winning 3-1 lead after the first match on Sunday) and the fourth rubber lasts at least four sets, the fifth rubber will not be played unless both teams agree otherwise.
All five rubbers will still be played if one nation has a winning 3-0 lead after Saturday, or the tie is decided after the fourth rubber and the fourth rubber lasts only three sets. All dead rubbers will continue to be the best of three tiebreak sets.

Well monfils was lots of fun for the crowd. He played the crowd well. Fan shouts out don't be cute monfils on his first shot after serve goes between legs. Lots of fun seeing them play relaxed

Food for thought after Laurendeau's lineup decisions this weekend:

It was just all messed up.

Dancevic should have played doubles. He and Nestor have played together before, in fact they've never lost.

Haha awesome! Forgot to check this thread until now. Yeah the so called green men didn't look like they were doing much to get the crowd going, I'm assuming they were given tickets?

Went on Sunday as well, Dancevic put up a great fight for what I expected to be a blowout. Too bad Milos didn't play, that would have been a crazy match since Tsonga didn't look like he was in top form. Felt kind of bad for Pospisil, playing in his home province with nothing on the line. Was pretty funny seeing Monfils joke with the French team during the match though.

Raonic wins in straight sets 6-2 7-6 I believe. Good chance he will meet Roddick in final. Monfils retires after sore knee. Has also pulled out of next weeks tournament

Raonic is defending alot of points this week. I read somewhere that if he had lost last night, his ranking would have plummeted to 48!

Even if he wins the tournament, he only returns to #32. Those lost points in Australia knocked him down a bit.

It appears his points from the SAP last year were already removed, since the tournament was held a week earlier last year.

I may be wrong, but i don't see his win included on his current point total at all. He should be able to gain ranking with another win this week.

His 300 Memphis points fall off this week.

Moved into the semis today with another win. Has to play a young american who beat him during his run last hard court season again, Harrison, to get to the finals.

Really looks good so far this season, it's really tragic that he had to miss that second singles match for Davis Cup. There's been a little negative noise in the media about him playing this week after withdrawing but I don't blame him for pulling out at all.

Because he wasn't really hurt on Saturday.
