I guess it depends on you perspective. They certainly want a lot more from him, but hes become more of a provider for Gomez than the standout goalscorer he broke out as.

Hes still valuable to the national team because of his chemistry with Gomez.

I'd consider Muller to have been a disappointment since the World Cup, but I think thats largely because of what was expected of him. I think he'll pull a 'Gomez-esque' turnaround in a year or so though.

I agree. And dont forget:

Podolski (26yo/93 caps/ 43 goals) - Mesut Ozil (23yo/28 caps/7 goals) - Tomas Muller (22yo/23 caps/6goals)

Schweinsteiger (27yo/90 caps/23 goals) - Gotze (18yo/10 caps/2 goals)

On the Bench:

Reportedly out of favour:

Khedira - 24yo/22 caps/1 goal
Marko Marin - 22yo/16 caps/ 1 goal

Likely on the bench:

Toni Kroos - 21yo/22 caps/1 goal
Andre Schurrle - 20yo/10 caps/ 5 goals
Simon Rolfes - 29yo/24 caps/1 goal

Up and coming:

Kevin Großkreutz - 23yo/3 caps/0 goals - Hes a new guy, but up and coming.
Marco Reus - 22yo/2 caps/0 goals

Germany has an embarrassment of riches at midfield, in all aspects, wingers and central players both attacking and defending.

I didn't watch the soccer because I was watching Crosby's comeback on GCL. I have just seen the scores.

I am pleased.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has warned Manchester City that the Bundesliga club will not rest on their laurels when they travel to the Etihad Stadium on December 7.

It has been suggested that Bayern's already assured progression could work in City's favour, but Rummenigge insists his club will be seeking victory when they head to Manchester.

He said: "We are still going to try and win in Manchester. First of all, there are points for the five-year ranking at stake, and then there are €800,000 to the winner. We are not going to give anything away.

City are in tough.

Yeah, but after all the injuries we've had, I'll take it and not feel bad about taking it.

Hope Bender's ok - don't like seeing players get injured.

That was a crazy collision. I'd put my money on broken cheekbone.

Chelsea lose and Valencia win 7-0 which I think puts them even in terms of Goal Difference. Whats the next tie-breaker?

Chelsea might be out.

If level it comes down to the record between the two teams level on points.

Chelsea draw 0-0 or 1-1, thy're through. A 2-2 or higher scoring draw (with Chelsea's defence it is possible) and Valencia are through.

BTW - slight change - a 1-1 draw will see Valencia through.
