Burris might be a better overall QB then Tate right now...sure, ill give you that.
The potential for Burris to perform worse then Tate is also a possibility...which he may have done in at least one of those 3 games.

Henry Burris on Chevy & Nasty for full hour, right now . . .
- wants to lead a team to a championship
- Drew did a great job in final three games
- did his job to keep team up top - 2nd in a number of QB categories
- one of the best in the game - peers would agree
- Calgary will always be home

all kinds of rumors on twitter tonite that Chris Jones will be moving to Toronto to join Milanovich as Asstnt Head Coach and DC.
TSNDaveNaylor David William Naylor
Once Argos introduce Scott Milanovich as head coach, look for Calgary def co-ord Chris Jones to come as ass't head coach and def co-ord.
TSNDaveNaylor David William Naylor
Both Scott Milanovich and Chris Jones have ties to Jim Barker.
Losing both Hank and Jones? Is it Christmas yet?

The big question is why would Jones want to go to Toronto? Did Huf help?

I know Jones defense was frustrating at times but I think that may have been in large part due to poor players rather than a poor co-ordinator.
Odd that he went to TO in basically a lateral move with most likely less chance of taking over the head coach job.
I think the Stamps will be worse off next year without Jones and throw in losing Burris and it looks like a Rider-esque fall could be in the cards for next year.

Why go to TO? - higher cost of living, apathetic fan base, media circus

Losing a QB who wasnt playing and a DC who's charges were not playing well will equate to a complete and utter collapse like the Riders excperienced?
LOL!

Burris started 15 of 18 games so yes losing him could easily have a big effect on the team.
And the DC that we lost had a very successful defense for many years here.
It isn't like there are a ton of awesome CFL coaches hanging around that will come in and easily replace him.

Huff says Toronto didn't even contact him first about Jones. That's not cool.
SUNIanBusby Wow RT @SUNGilbertson: Argos didn't contact Huf for permission to talk to Jones. "If they had contacted me, I wouldn't be so surprised" #cfl
SUNIanBusby Argos blindside Stamps …RT @SUNGilbertson: Hufnagel on losing DC Chris Jones to Argos: "I'm very surprised. I had no forewarning of it" #cfl

^^^ isnt that tampering? Was he under contract or did he have a complete out after every season? Further, does this mean that Huff and Jones didnt see eye to eye?
So many questions....if Jones really left like that then "dont let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out"...gutless move.

Stamps should definatly be compensated but it doesn't sound like the league is going to step in. What BS. Steal another teams cordinator without consent from that team. Without Huff even been contacted,Total garbage. Shows what a dirtbag jolly Jim Barker is too.
Wonder if Huff goes to his American contacts or sticks with a CFL team.
Since there is no penalty apparently go after BC or Winterpegs D cord.

Now Toronto has released a statement saying that they have not spoken to Jones yet as he is still under contract with the Stamps. Someone is a liar. I wonder who it will end up being?
http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=381608
"The Toronto Argonauts did not request permission from the Calgary Stampeders to talk to Chris Jones," the statement read. "Chris Jones was under contract to the Stampeders.
As such, the Argonauts did not believe him to be available for discussion. He does not have a contract with the Toronto Argonauts. "The Toronto Argonauts have no further comment on this situation."

Nice dig by Huff at the end of the article:
Quote:
Hufnagel said he will also look outside his own staff and conduct interviews over the next four weeks, but said he will not pursue a current CFL defensive co-ordinator.
"I don't think I will try to get someone else's defensive co-ordinator unless that person contacted me and I received permission to talk to them," Hufnagel said.

The Calgary Stampeders have filed a complaint with the Canadian Football League over the Toronto Argonauts' recruitment of defensive coordinator Chris Jones, who was under contract to the Stampeders through 2012.
The league is looking into the matter.
While no one with the Argos contacted Jones and no permission was requested from the Stampeders, it's clear Jones and Argos coach-in-waiting Scott Milanovich were in touch, although it's not clear who reached out to whom.
Jones apparently cleared out his belongings on Wednesday in Calgary and told head coach John Hufnagel about his intentions on Tuesday afternoon.

Henry Burris landing in Toronto next year pretty much died tonight with Toronto signing Jyles to an extension.

I'm half guessing Milanovich decided to call his former coach and tell him to come to Toronto where he'll be assistant coach and they'll throw a pile of money at him at some point after the Als' loss.
The Argos are going to claim that Milanovich isn't/wasn't technically under contract with the Argos when he made the call to Jones, so they don't owe the Stamps anything.
With Braley and the clout he's got in the league offices, I'd be very surprised if the Stamps get anything other than much of an apology.
If nothing else, this will give Huff some fire in the belly all offseason to craft an offense, and defense, with the sole intention to kick the crap out of the Argos.
Will look forward to the handshake after the first Stamps/Argos go, when Huff runs up the score with a TD or two in garbage time against Milanovich and Jones' defense.

I bet if the Stamps looked into plane ticket purchases by the Argo's they would find out Barker was in Calgary 3 weeks ago.
