Nix with a wonderful basket catch, showing great range reaching the ball in foul LF - and appeared to be past the convergence point of the three defenders.

I've hardly seen the guy, but Nix reminds me of Scutaro in a lot of ways. Passed his minor-league service time as a reliable but unsettled player that spent a lot of time learning (even by baseball standards).
Great versatility, surprising offense (so far), and a refined/polished approach.
Hopefully he's as good. Think of the wordplay!

Patchwork lineup coming through huge against King Felix tonight with Nix and Patterson combining to go 5 for 7 with 1 Hr and 3 RBI's.

Purcey kind of sucked, and Dotel walked in a run.

Well, good to see we're having a good bullpen tonight. Hopefully scrabble can do better.

I'm beginning to wonder if the pitchers understand that you have to throw the ball over the strike zone in order not to walk players

Rough night. Bully just couldn't hit the corners to start at-bats, but to their credit they didn't serve up meatballs.

The philosophy of the team seems a little to passive - walking Ichiro and pitching around a lousy line-up is not the attitude I'm hoping for from Farrell.

Those ####hackers in the Mariners lineup shouldn't score 8 runs in a series let alone a single game. Farrell and Dotel wear the horns tonight.

Man the Mariners look awful again this year, and the jays looked even worse tonight. This road trip is sucking hardcore - between tonight and the Davidson call that cost them the Angels game they should be 7-3.

The pitching was all around bad - Litsch was actually lucky not to get hit for a fair few runs early on, he dug himself a hole almost every inning it felt like and the pen was so bad especially Purcey.

What the hell? I went to bed with the Jays having a 7-0 lead, thinking they were more than safe. Imagine my dismay when I wake up and open TSN.

Blah....it's the freaking Mariners!!

Lol wow wtf happened? Wasn't it 7-1 in the top 8th? That's when I stopped watching and actually thought they had won the game until reading this thread.

Me too, ridiculous loss, and WTF was Farrell thinking walking Ichiro representing the winning run? Oh well, hopefully early season growing pains, but pretty ugly game to lose.
