Why do we start talking like Brits when talking about soccer? "Kits" instead of "uniforms", "pace" instead of "fast". It is especially funny to see Craig Forrest speak this way (even though he played in Ipswich). Craig is from Coquitlam.

I think it is just natural to use the lingo of the game.

Table, pitch, nil those sorts of things.

I will go so far as to say that I'm a bit brainwashed by watching euro soccer (and I'm not exactly a soccer nut). When I watch a NA broadcast the PBP guy doesn't have a british accent and uses NA language to describe things, I instantly think the guy sucks. Something about soccer broadcasts with a British guy doing commentary just seems so much better.

In fairness to Craig Forrest, he played in the UK from 17 or 18 years. You can't live somewhere that long without some of it rubbing off onto you.

If a Brit came onto a hockey forum and started talking about the Flames' kits and using other football lingo, he'd be mocked accordingly. You just use the lingo of the sport in question.

Unfortunately, I believe this is the retro kit from the 70's/80's. Compare that to the Timber's retro 3rd which actually looks classy.

Some things are best left in the 80s like the 8track and that horrid color scheme.
