Undertaking is higher risk thank overtaking. That is why it is illegal in many countries.

I remember i was driving home from Cold lake once and on the QE2 between Calgary and Edmonton, i was going about 120 in the right lane, went to pass someone, saw a person coming up in the left lane (from a distance) so i sped up to 140 to pass, the person behind me never had to slow down and when they passed the guy have me the biggest thumbs up.

If only more people knew how to drive on the highways.
I always give thumbs up to attentive drivers. This also includes those in the city who pull up/left to open the freeflow right turn lane or move right to let people get into the advance turn lanes at traffic lights...
I always make the best effort to clear these for those behind me and get frequent thumbs ups back in return.

It's all about sharing the road (and paying attention) when you're out there, regardless of how fast you choose to drive on the highway...

Next thing I know, the truck throws on the lights and pulls me over. I would normally have been doing about 115 (not likely to get a ticket even though still over the limit), but he got me just under 130.

I really considered fighting that one.

I also learned that day that the cops drive Ford trucks (this was a few years ago when they first got the trucks), and that if you see a Ford truck without daytime running lights, there's a good chance it's a cop.
That would be a slam dunk tossed ticket if you took the time to go down to the traffic court on appearance day and talk to the prosecutor.

Clear cut case of entrapment...

I don't think so. The truck didn't force him to do something he didn't want to do. He didn't have to speed up.

Given your position I don't really understand why you've posted so many times in this thread.

People are giving you credit for being a left lane obstructor because of how you've argued.

We get it. You don't like speeders. You think people should move over to let them pass. That position doesn't really differ from most although a lot of people don't consider speeding by 10-30 under optimal conditions (sunny, dry road, etc) to be dangerous. As has been pointed out, people successfully drive much, much higher speeds in other countries on highways with a good safety record. I remember being in one of the middle lanes of an autobahn in Germany going 150-160 and people were passing us like we were standing still.

As much as you think speeding is dangerous, it is also very dangerous to be going slower than the flow of traffic in the left lane. Thus the slower traffic keep right maxim.

As long as you aren't trying to police the speed limit yourself by holding up the left lane I don't think anyone has a problem with your position. So like I said, not sure why you've posted as much as you have in this thread.

It makes no difference on a GTI. there is no current or voltage difference between hi and low beams on the xenons on my car. It simply re aims the bulbs. The is a servo that simply raises or lowers the bulbs. The DRLs on my car are the xenon bulbs. All of ourcars with Xenons are like this. Also we are not talking Canadian Tire HID kits. Factory kits and ballasts tend to be just a little more reliable.

I think i understand how projectors and bixenon's work... The servo does not "re aim the bulb" it retracts a shield allowing the light to shoot anywhere, with the shield up it creates a shadow which is why you have a "cutoff"

Are you sure the DRL's are the HID's? regardless if they are Densos or Mahtusitsu ballasts and phillips bulbs you can still run the life of them down by powering them on when they dont need to be. That is why Most OEM Projector HID's have a halogen DRL.

The new Lexus Rx350 is a perfect example, it uses a halogen reflector as the DRL but the low and high beams are controlled by the Bixenon projector with HID's
