I know it's petty and meaningless, but how does the panel virtually ignore the best player on this team in their discussion?

I probably would too if we're being honest. But only because he probably projects to be better in the future, and this tournament is in a few months. Right now, they're probably about equal in terms of game impact.

This is easily the team I'll be cheering for in this thing. What are we looking at for lineups so far?

Code:
Gaudreau - McDavid - MacKinnon
Larkin - Eichel - ?
Saad - Monahan - Couturier
? - Miller - ?

Ekblad - ?
Jones - Murray
Rielly - ?

It'll be interesting to see who wears the letters. The default will end up being the older guys I'm sure but with Todd McLennan you never know. Could see a handful of assistants named, or several players named captain than have it stripped between now and August.

Some people might be underrating Rielly. Taken higher than Hamilton and TOR had him ranked #1 that year. Pretty damn good young defenseman.

There's no doubt in my mind that McDavid will end up with the C. And I will puke in my mouth.

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Chiarelli says it was "difficult" to leave off Nugent-Hopkins but says the player took it as well as one can. And remains in mix for June 1

Point is, no one is saying that Murray and Reilly aren't damn good players. Just that Hamilton is better.

You'd have to think it would be Couturier (5 full NHL seasons under his belt) or Saad (2 time cup champion).

We missed out on a Gaudreau - McDavid - Hall top line by only half a year, too.

Couturier sure won't be on the wing. He'll fill the shut down center role. The question is, which guys are best suited to play hard minutes on his wings?

Gotta imagine Gostisbehere would be in the mix for the under 23's.

Is it just me, or is the grey kind of weird on those NA jerseys?
