Really hoping the Russian factor pushes Scherbak down to Calgary's spot. Won't happen. That kid is good.

Its really hard to say what the russian factor will be this year, if the US state department puts a crackdown on green cards as part of any economic sanctions, we could see huge falls, even for guys like Scherbak playing in north america.

Not that I don't think he's a viable prospect, just probably not for us.

For once global politics could play a huge role in draft eligible Russians this year. I suppose I should say at least there's some validity to the Russians factor this year.
But, Bogdan Yakimov is in fact coming over this year to play in the AHL so Things may not transpire as we may think.
Still, if any of the top rated Russians like Goldobin, Scherbak or Barbashev fall to the Flames pick, I hope they take one.

from what I remember from recent tweets, Corey Pronman is a HUGE Fiala fanboy. Will be interesting to see where he goes.

He might.
My rankings are never where I think a player will be drafted, they are my assessment of him. I think there is offense there, but I also see major flaws in his game, and I question how coachable he is. No matter what team he is on, he seems to have zero commitment to play that team's system, and there are some rumors of clashes with coaches.
Last year I knew full-well that someone would love Mike McCarron's size and take him late first or early second round... didn't change the fact I felt he was #60. My mock draft (which I will do at some point) are more predictions of where guys will go than the rankings.
That said... 2 for 1 day on rankings.
