Lol, who the f*** is this idiot? If he and his traitorous loser buddies are so enamoured with the U.S., why wouldn't they just move there? Seems like that would be easier, no?

Danielle Smith

“No one wins a tariff war”

Canada- including us here in Alberta- took Americans at their word when they asked us to strengthen border security, address illegal migration, and tackle fentanyl trafficking.

That’s why today’s new tariffs and counter-tariffs are so frustrating.

Billions of dollars have been wiped from the stock market and consumers and business are about to feel the economic damage to come, especially manufacturers and refiners in the USA that rely on raw materials from Canada.

I joined @CNBC today to discuss it more.

Duane Bratt

This is remarkable. Smith feels betrayed by Trump. She has realized that it was never about the border and fentanyl. And now says that the fentanyl issue if coming from the US not to the US.

The Breakdown

“the Red Deer & Lethbridge facilities are owned by two separate numbered companies under the Alberta Surgical Group name.

Corporate records show Sam Mraiche, CEO of MHCare Medical, is a 25 per cent stakeholder in both companies.”

Rose Carter, a lawyer for the company, said its contract prohibits it from discussing details, so “ASG is unable to publicly defend itself.”

Well that's bad news for them. But wait!
Quote:
“I have identified provisions that materially differ from similar arrangements between AHS and other contract surgical providers,” Mentzelopoulos wrote in a letter to then-deputy health minister Andre Tremblay in August.

In that letter, Mentzelopoulos said Alberta Surgical Group was under the impression that its contract included a provision promised by AHS representatives that the firm didn’t need to “adhere to the terms of the contract.”

Good news that you already know. You don't have to adhere to the terms, so you are welcome to publicly defend yourself.

I was listening to Power & Politics and New Brunswick Primeire was talking about their four point plan for tariff response https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-b...-war-1.7474257

Also discussed a few things about inter-provincial trade and honouring certificates and whatnot - merits aside, has AB/Smith come out with something similar? Wondering if I missed it in an interview or something.

All of the other Provinces had their plans put together and ready to go because they knew this was coming. Smith is acting like these tarrifs came out of nowhere. Her cabinet just met yesterday to start to put together a plan.

So no, you didn't miss an interview. We just have no plan aside from trying to suck up to Trump.

Appears that Ford's threats with electricity got their attention.

Quote:
U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick called Premier Doug Ford on Tuesday for a “tough and aggressive” conversation after the Ontario government announced its plan to slap a 25 per cent export tax on the electricity it supplies to three U.S. states, CTV News has learned.

Sources said Lutnick asked Ford to back off his retaliatory tariffs, but the Ontario premier refused so long as U.S. President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs remain in effect.
https://www.ctvnews.ca/toronto/artic...n-electricity/

We have the biggest hammer of all the Provinces. Trump's already shown his cards that it's a weakness with only 10% tarrifs instead of 25%.
Do you cut off the taps today? No. But it has to be on the table and it has to be a legitimate threat.
