Yeah and it sounds like he's abandoned his slider too which was the pitch that opponents most often hit hard.
Looks like Striplings being pulled after 5. Buck nailed it with his old school rant. This is a garbage pull for a guy pitching lights out and trying to build his confidence back up.

I believe in the Jays.

If you say so... the times through the order penalty is real and Buck isn't the brightest bulb. The Jays radio PBP team was so much better then the TV PBP

Dolis gets the job done. I just hate watching him pitch. He’s slow and creates a bunch of drama by lacking control.

What happened to Civale in the 7th is the risk of putting Stripling back out for another inning. A good start can turn ugly quick.
I still think it would have been good to have given Stripling one hitter to face in the 6th to show confidence in him.

Civale had also given up 10 baserunners to Striplings 3. Civale was lucky to only give up 3 to this point, and it looks like it's finally going to catch up to him.
I get it. I know the trends. I just think it's dumb when you have a pitcher absolutely dealing with 67 pitches thrown. It's also the first half of the double header and no one knows how Matz is going to perform in game 2. If he blows up early then you're really going to tax the pen.

C'mon SN guys. The only way Vlad will play for Canada is if whomever puts the roster together for the DR takes complete leave of his senses.

Bases loaded double, so close to a slam. Thought Teo hit that out for sure.

Love Vladdy’s aggressiveness there but always a bit nerve wracking to see the franchise player put their body at risk!

I'm pretty stunned by how much Vladdy has improved his all around game. Thought he could do it, but had no idea he would turn it around so quickly. It's unreal.

The Jays could use a major league caliber third baseman.

Just turn on the game and see an error, followed by rbi double then a single. Back to hockey game I go.

This inning is a nice counterpoint why you don’t overstay your starters. Third time through is absolutely a thing.
