I just noticed the huge Japanese games sale on PSN the other day, and went on a bit of a splurge. I went and bought FF7, FF8, FF9, Star Ocean First Departure R, and Last Remnant Remastered. I am just starting FF7 Remake now after finishing Octopath Traveler, and then I have to also play Sakura Wars and Astral Chain. My backlog of games just keep getting longer, but I guess I like buying games. I still have some games that I didn't take out of the wrapper, or I've downloaded but haven't had time to play. I really should stop doing that lol. Guess that whole fomo thing whenever I see game deals totally work on me.
I also ready today that it won't be as long or as big as Odyssey due to complaints about it being too bloated.
Of course someone didn’t want too much content. Bloated? Perfect! Add as much crap as you want it’s not like there’s a NG+ option past the endgame anyway. Make the single player game as ridiculously long as humanly possible please.
Looking forward to playing as a classically stealthy...viking. Ok sure. I understand why they pivoted the core gameplay with Origins but I miss an actual AC game.
And yeah I don't see it being stealthy, though it was possible to play that way in Odyssey, especially if you focused on that side of the skill tree. I think it all comes down to the setting, classical Greece and the Vikings definitely don't make you think of stealth attacks. They did mention social stealth will make a re-appearance at least.
Considering the Viking age leads right up to the Crusades nicely, if they continued sequentially, with the first true next gen AC they could re-visit the original AC setting which deserves a re-do. Then they could re-introduce a stealth-heavy approach like the true Assassins of the time period used. Its too bad Unity was such a mess at launch, as they went all in on stealth for that one. Make it play at launch how it did a year later, and I think AC looks totally different today. That disaster changed everything.

I really hope they go in a new direction after Valhalla., I'm tired of sticking only to western civilizations. Ancient China, feudal Japan, Persian and Ottoman empires, so many other great time periods to explore
after completing all the stuff in the RE3 remake pretty quickly (since it's too short), I decided to get the Originals Collection for the PS4. Includes the RE1 remake and RE0, both HD remastered. Got it for 20 bucks, so I thought why not?
About halfway through RE1 and I absolutely love it. I had those games on the Gamecube back then, but obviously haven't played them in over 15 years. The controls are clunky, the camera is a constant pain in the ass and the dialogues and voice acting are beyond terrible ... but I'm having a ton of fun the remastered version looks pretty decent too. Also made me realize how much I missed all those goofy puzzles in the new remakes.
Naughty Dog has literally never made a bad game, in 25 years, and are one of very few developers to have made multiple of my personal GOTY. I will be there day one for any software they release.

I used to be against the China/Japan angle, just because back in the day I felt like lots of games visited that area already, plus I personally had historical areas I'd prefer the game to visit. But after them shockingly covering my two all-time favourite cultures in back to back years: ancient Egypt & ancient Greece, I think I'm quite on board with visiting a feudal Japan now.
I also think China / Japan would be a natural fit for those wanting AC to return to more of a stealth-focus, which is my preferred AC method as well. Yeah I'm all for it. I wouldn't be surprised if an Eastern setting was chosen for the first true next gen AC.

I've started playing the Uncharted collection because of this rep and I have to agree, it's looking like a solid game series
Though, I'm having a hard time trying to adjust from hearing Creepy pedo Nolan North in LoU to the voice of leading man Drake Nolan North

Yeh, and Uncharted 1 is probably one of Naughty Dog’s lower tier games (though still good). That series really takes off with the second one, one of my all time favorite games.

Does it go downhill after 2? I might be in for the long haul if there's 5 in the game series
