A couple of months ago I bought a bunch of professional studio-recorded reels with playlists from a closed rock radio station. It's playing "Afternoon Delight" right now and it's a very good track, but I can't stop giggling. Anchorman screwed it up for me forever...

Listening to I Mother Earth's debut album Dig. How great a band were they? Really criminally underrated. The debut album is really heavy with a great funk/psychedelic sound. The whole album is pretty flawless in my opinion but the closer was especially great.
They dont lack acclaim or accolades, but watching The Eagles in their prime is really magical: 5 superstar musicians all switching instruments, singing the best 5 part harmonies I've ever heard and everyone taking turns with lead vocals. You wouldn't know by watching it that they were only a few years away from epicly imploding, no one is showing off and everyone's performance is restrained and serves the song.
Their music has been so inescapable my whole life that I've never really taken the time to appreciate it.
(First song is Hotel California)
