I don't feel thrilled about trading for any "solid middle six forward". I think that the flames are already loaded with those players. Watching this current game, I'm amazed that Brandon Carlo is on the third pairing, and they are playing shattenkirk, top four left side.
Hanifin for Carlo, lysell and 1st
Reasoning is Carlo opens up an andersson trade, should that become an overpay, or else slides into the tanev spot as defense first player. Lysell has untapped potential. 1st.

I wouldn't mind any trade with the Bruins to include their 2026 first. It has to be unprotected though. They never seem to fall apart, but who knows? By 2026 maybe that team finally falls off a cliff and the Flames get another shot at the McKenna lottery.
