I posted said image in my post praising Sliver.

I also said in same post that I did not spolier it because I did not want to minimize the artiste. I added an e to sound fancy.

Then when I posted again, multiple times, I had to endure the very large screen and needed to scroll in order to post.

When you are caught by something you did to yourself, some call it a leopard eating your face, as in "look we got a pet leopard." "Gah, my pet leopard ate my face." Of course it did that is what leopards do, pet or not.

A petard is actually a small bomb. The phrase would mean you are blowed up by your own bomb. (And here I was thinking it was a Shakespeare timey thing to ensconce, wrap, or contain one's junk.) That is funnier.

a new park recently opened 'close' to our place. i was out with the kids this afternoon and we decided to pop in on the way home so the kids could check it out.
the parking lot is pay parking - what??? it's a park in a neighbourhood!! whatever - we won't be too long so i guess i'll pay for an hour.
i go to the place to pay and there are a couple of city of kelowna people there - one is parking enforcement and one is a city employee - they have the pay station opened up becuz it's apparently acting up and not working correctly - cool! free parking!
my kids and i head into the park but i made sure to keep an eye on the city of kelowna guys. eventually they close the pay station and the one guy leaves but the parking enforcement guy sticks around. after standing around for about 5 minutes he walks up to a minivan with his 'ipad device' thing and the next thing i see he's writing out a ticket and putting it under the minivan's windshield wiper. i quickly head toward the pay station and comment to him as i pass that since i assume the pay station is now working that i'll go pay and to not give me a ticket while i motion to my truck.
he was cool with that and i didn't get a parking ticket, but i found it pretty greasy that there is only one pay station at this park, they had it open becuz it wasn't working and then the dude starts ticketing people becuz they haven't paid shortly after the pay station starts to work.
he ticketed another person and as the owner of the car returned he grabbed the ticket and motioned to the parking guy and yelled, "seriously?!?!" to which the parking guy replied, "thanks for supporting the city of kelowna!"

There is nothing unusual about having to pay for parking at city parks, particularly outside Calgary. The issue is obviously that they were tagging people when they weren’t able to pay.

YNWGMG? the piece of #### Rogers Sportsnet App for the Apple TV. It sucks. It is digital but it takes 10 minutes to fast forward past the assclowns at the start of each hockey game. Then occasionally jumps to the end of the broadcast. WTF!!?? I hate it so much.

And this is sort of the problem. Is it right to expect someone to own a several hundred dollar piece of technology along with an annual subscription that could easily cost the same or more (or jump through numerous hoops for publicly-accessible WiFi) just to be able to access government services?

I'm not so sure it is. Private company, whatever, but we have a choice generally to do business with a private company. We don't have any choice but to do business with our own government.

Apps are also not great for tourism. Nobody wants to install an app and setup an account to park once in their life, and then do it again at the next stop. They may not even have data if they are just using wifi to travel.

oh probably - but i don't have that app. you'd likely have to take a pic of the qr code thing... but again - i don't have the app that reads those.
my phone is ancient (1st generation iphone se... so about 9 yrs old) and i've never added an app to it (honestly - i've never added an app). i tried once and it asked for a password and i have no clue what the password is for my phone.
i only use my phone for texting - that's about it. i hate talking on a cell - they always drop calls or the phone just hangs up for no reason. i'm not a fan of them. and yes, i still have a landline - ha!
