Less than ideal.

I have to travel to Red Deer for work tomorrow and will be watching the game with some colleagues who are mostly from Edmonton. Hoping to represent the CATS.
Same,

Anyone been to Jersey City etc and see something?

Imagine rewashing a game with the sole focus of trying to see how many times a stick made contact with McDavid so you can push the "poor Oilers are being beaten by the mean refs" narrative. He then continues to whine and whine in the most passive agreesive way. Worth a read.
In Edmonton it's all about the PP. The problem is, after the Kings series their PP is scoring at a normal clip. 45% against the Kings. 27% since.

Problem Oilers fans and media are having is they got 9 PP goals against the Kings and 10 since. They got 4 PP's a game against the Kings, 2.86 against the Canucks and 2.13 per game against the Stars and Panthers. They are still looking around thinking they are playing the Kings and will get PP after PP and score at 45% rate. They need to shut up and win at 5 on 5, which is something most of us knew would happen at some point in the playoffs. Less PP's the further you go.

Hyman has 5 goals 3 assists in last 14 games
Draisaitl has 2 goals 1 assist in last 7 games
Nuge has 2 goals and 1 assist in last 7 games

Only Bouchard and Mcdavid have kept it going. The other guys need the PP rolling to produce.

I made the mistake of reading this and TLDR:

Florida defends not by defending well, but by slashing all the time
Edmonton defends by playing the game super well with structure and skillz

Oilers might slash too, but it benefits the Panthers more than the Oilers because the Oilers are the most skilled and virtuous team, full of superstars, Florida is a bunch of unskilled brutes. Oilers should play the whole game on McPP so that McDavid doesn't get slashed.

In Staples' defense, it's pretty hard for Edmonton players to hit someone with their sticks when they are trying to stay far enough away to allow for as many "That guy scored" memes as possible.

Yes it would be, which is why regular season NHL hockey is at times unwatchable. That isn't hooking, it's backchecking with Tkachuk's feet moving the entire time while stick checking and I'm glad it isn't being called in the playoffs.

The Oilers only chance is to win the cup via a PP contest, not you know, actual hockey where you have to stick to a system, outwork and outbattle the opposition at 5-5 the majority of the time.

Last time I was in Sporting Life up at Cross Iron they had a ton of merch from other teams. Would not be surprised if that’s your best bet.

Jersey City and all that had nothing.

May be Jersey City and others are hiding all the Panthers stuff during this Final.

Draisaitl is playing tomorrow. The Oilers have no leg to stand on when it comes to offciating. He should have been tossed from the last game and suspended for at least a game. Oh, but let's complain about players touching McDavid with weak little one-handers that Staples even admits are meant more just to annoy him than actually interfere with him.

Hearing the Panthers plane just took off after several delays in South Florida. They won’t get into Edmonton until Wednesday night.

Thursday has an early puck drop, 6:20 MT.

The Oilers flew Tuesday and will get two full nights at home ahead of Game 3.
How come the Panthers wouldn't have flown into Edmonton sooner as well? Better chance to aclimate + avoid interuption issues like they just had.

Panthers chose to stay a day later at home. May have been a misstep but given this how most nights are in the regular season without 3 days off, I'm betting they'll be fine.

Does anyone want to get to Edmonton earlier then they need to? Surprised the Oilers didn't even stay back an extra day

May be they want to spend as less time in Edmonton as possible?

I was wondering that myself. I would personally prefer to get there early and settle in. Having said that, I am whatever the opposite is of a high performance athlete. Maybe one less day in an uncomfortable hotel bed eating restaurant food is preferable.

Most of the hacks were minor ones, meant to upset McDavid’s timing and rhythm, not to jolt him so much that he would fall or even loose the puck.
You'd think that someone who considers themselves a professional sports writer would know the difference between lose and loose.
