Was looking at the list of picks this morning. Calgary currently at 31st and Vancouver at 32nd overall.
If it held out that way, holding the Vancouver 3rd would mean that we have the first and second picks in the 3rd round. With Ottawa forfeiting their first round pick, the Vancouver pick is essentially the last pick of the 2nd round and the Flames pick moves to first in the 3rd round.
Not only do we have 8 picks in the first three rounds, we'd have 8 in the first 65 picks. Flames would be at the podium for 13% (rounding up) of basically the first and second rounds.
