I think the clip before the edit was the one that was objectionable. Plus I think anybody that has ever switched over their own tires knows how deadly those could be from the weight alone.
There was someone that used to post stuff like that in the funny picture/video thread that looked like they came from a snuff film site.

What about all weather tires? On a previous vehicle, I ran Nokian WRG all weather tires year round and I think it took till year 4 until I felt the winter driving was a little sketchy on them. This was when I was driving them year round. I think Nokian had a reputation for slightly lower durability, but I recall the WRG were Champs all the way through.
I am considering getting Nokian WRG for my summer tires. I assume they should handle fringe light to moderate dumps of snow with no issue up till I replace them at year 5 ish. I don't have to worry swapping early because it can still handle decent dumps, and swapping early I can save the tread on the x ice.
We used WRG4 tires on my wife's Outback and while they were great in the winter I consider them extremely noisy and once the tread starts wearing are unbearably noisy in dry conditions. I can't recommend them to people that do a lot of highway driving because of that.

Not that I want to turn this into the tire thread but what low-noise all(3) season tires are people running on their trucks/suvs? I hate all weather tires and find ATs annoyingly noisy on the road.
IDK man. Is there a way to move to, like, San Diego or something? If I hated the weather here so much I think I'd find away to get to a climate I prefer. I'm in heaven with these temps right now. Cruising around with just a hoodie is my favourite. I was in Hawaii for a week at the end of March where it was 28 every day. Fun for a holiday, but I couldn't live like that. Calgary felt amazing when I came back.
Only thing that gets me down this time of year is how ugly everything is, but within five weeks we'll be looking pretty sharp, so it's all good.

I don't hate the cold weather pre se, but I don't live it either.
What I dislike about Calgary is it's incorrect weather.
While this weekend was a wicked run, it's things like cold weather in May or snow in May, or the crazy snow you get in early October that dries me nuts.
I can move and will once the boy is done High School, i've moved him twice already and promised no more until he was done High School.

I’ll say I hate the cold weather. And it’s like, always cold here. How many days a year is it 10*+ for the morning commute? How often are you better off to bring a sweater ‘just in case’ and it turns out you need it? Weather here sucks so hard.
So why don’t we move? Because I’m dumb and fell in love and started a family and now the benefits of living in Calgary apparently outweigh the misery for those depending on me.
But let’s be real, there’s a reason the COL is low and we still only have a few million people up here…being cold all the time is lame AF.

I love reading about the tire switching.
Where I live now you can use straight water for windshield fluid. Reading about everyone getting ready for the different stages of winter and two weeks of summer brings back memories.

Maybe you're just sensitive to cold. Up your zinc intake?
I was out in a T this morning in the sunshine and it was great. This is the time of year when 10 feels like 20 because we're not adjusted yet. I think it's been glorious.
I know of someone who moved up here a couple years ago to YYC from San Francisco for a new job. He lasted one winter, decided the cold was way too f'ing terrible here, and promptly moved back to San Fran and convinced the firm to open up an office there in the process.
I'm used to YYC weather and love this city, but would definitely consider moving to a warmer climate year-round. The cold and dryness does get very tiring, at least for me.
Sometimes I’m jealous of Americans and their ability to simply move within their own country and escape whatever weather type they dislike. We sadly don’t really have similar options here

On my drive home yesterday I was actually just thinking about how ugly this city looks at this time of year. Trees with no leaves, yellow grass, piles of gravel all over the streets and sidewalks. This is not the time of year you want to bring in friends or family to show them the city.

I have a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS on my SUV and the noise level is nice and low, with good comfort and handling.

This is why I really like new developments/buildings that use colour. We need that for our brown/grey shoulder seasons. Great example are the University City towers in Brentwood, with their bold and bright colours on them.

100% agreed. I'd like to add that those white-cladded residential towers in the East Village next to the 5th Avenue flyover look amazing as well, no matter what time of year. Always gives the area some clean vibrancy.

Sounds like you should start listening to your music on a higher volume.
