So long as Spanos is owner and they continue to display zero concept of people skills, I think you're right. They have talent, and keep finding it, but consistently find ways to under utilize it.

McDaniels stock has fallen off a cliff the last two years though, in hindsight he probably should have taken the Colts job, he might not get another look at an HC until Bill leaves NE. If the Chargers are going to do the likely underwhelming hire I expect it'll be Greg Roman.

yes the Colts job was a good one, this is still my prediction. Greg Roman would indeed be underwhelming

So it sounds like Drew Brees will be back under centre for the Saints against the Chiefs this weekend.
Even though that was always the expected return date, between recent news of Brees still feeling some discomfort throwing, combined with the Saints loss to the Eagles last week probably ending their shot at #1 in the NFC and thus taking the pressure off this game vs KC, I half-expected Brees to wait a little longer. But dude is a psycho in that regard, you just can't keep him on the sidelines any longer than absolutely necessary.
That and from what Sean Payton has hinted at in recent interviews, it seems almost expected Brees will hang em up after this year. So it's not surprising he wants to get in as many games down the stretch here in his probable final season. Including a big matchup vs Mahomes and the defending champs & Super Bowl favourite.
Will be interesting, I'm relieved the Taysom experiment is over, but with the leaky way the Saints OG's have played this year, I'll be cringing every time Brees gets hit on Sunday.

And now Michael Thomas is ruled out...just can never have them on the field at the same time this year, can we..
EDIT: Now place on IR. Resting him for the playoffs

Here's the problem with the Saints, IMO: Sean Payton is a petty, little dickhead.

Even though it didn't count, that Josh Allen Statue of Liberty handoff was sick.

Buffalo might have to punt on 4th and goal in Denver nonetheless with how this drive is going.

It's too bad that drive didn't start at their own 1 yard line, it would have been a 125 yard drive with the penalties.

As an Aaron Jones owner on fantasy, I can't remember the last time the Packers tried to run it in for a score.
Even on first and goal from the one they throw it to Tonyan or Adams.

Once the defense brings the 8th guy into the box to try and stuff the run (Jones or Williams), it leaves the others one on one. For Rogers thats the signal to throw quick....profit. Works about 95% of the time too.

Haha yeah he's certainly far from lacking confidence or an opinion, that's for sure. I could deff see how he rubs people the wrong way. The Saints got a few of those guys on the roster currently.
I gotta give him credit for doing a heck of a job the past couple seasons navigating through all these major injuries though. The past couple years, the 2 players you'd think would be truly disastrous to lose on this team would be Brees and Michael Thomas. Both have missed significant time the past 2 seasons now. The Saints record in games they missed: 14-3. Payton may be the real MVP on this team..

After such a long search for a QB with several duds along the way, the Bills have found their franchise QB and he is great to watch, whats even more strange is that Miami might have as well. will need more time to confirm that one. If this can happen, maybe even Chicago can get it right at some point.

I don't like that decision for the Panthers to kick it so quick when they had 1st down. You don't want to take at least 1 shot from there?

I think they were not off given that there was only going to be one play in front of the two minute warning and they only had one time out. If anything the sack on third down hurt them because of the time lost off the clock. But I think Roger's is too cagey to throw it away on third down, if there isn'tan easy completion he holds the ball.
Still Carolina nearly blocked the punt, and if they don't take the penalty could have had the ball st their 40 with 60 seconds left. If they run a play and don't get a TD, they are in a position to get the ball back with 20 seconds left at best and no time outs. I guess if you get the TD and miss the two you would know you need a TD to win rather than hope for a TD and a 2 to tie it up.
