Seems to be conflicting reports on that. some saying it's the actual rules that if the match starts under the roof, it has to finish under the roof. Some say it's at the tournament discretion. I do think it's fairest to keep it closed, the reason it was closed was so the match could be played at all, it wasn't a weather reason.

Ya it's a tough call about the roof but keeping it closed makes sense I suppose.
People are losing their minds online that the Women's final is most likey going to be moved because of the continuation of this match. Tournament really dropped the ball, the Isner and Anderson match should have started earlier. Why did it only start at 1pm Local time....

It always starts at 1pm. Its tradition.
There were years before the roof where they knew it would rain at 1pm and still didn't start early.

Ok fine, that was insanely better tennis to watch and now I’m pissed the Nadal-Djokovic match is getting split up.
The curfew’s an annoying rule. One of my favourite parts of the US Open is matches going well past midnight.

I like both these guys I’m always conflicted when they play. Djokovic has really grown on me over the last five years or so.
I’m leaning towards Rafa though.

What a start for Nadal, like that he is coming into net more.

Maybe it's just because the roof is closed so the sound is amplified, but jeez both these guys grunting is really loud and annoying. Not quite Screamapova levels of bad, but obviously pronounced and not natural.

O baby my heart can't take this. To win the game from down 0-40 what a hold. Women's final pushed back now at least an HR probably more.

I really disagree with this match being held before the Women’s final. It’s not right.

So in the end it does look like the Wimbledon final will get in the way of England's final World Cup game.

But it is when you think about it. The ladies can wait, they have no match tomorrow to worry about. But imagine a Kerber-Serena match going four hours, then Nadal-Djokovic don't get out until around 7:15pm local, and they could again flirt with curfew, but mostly will be playing late with the final again tomorrow. I think this is the best of a bad situation.

Gutsy hold from Novak. Feels like he breaks here to close it out.

It's really great for the sport to have Novak back, the Fedal revival tour was fun for a while, but it's great to have an elite player and even more elite competitor back.
