I'm shocked she hasn't been found yet. If you know that dog and owner as a neighbour or from dog park/walks it's usually around, it's easy to remember people and their dogs.

Makes me wonder if they were from out of town and quickly left after the incident.

Calgary bylaw officers are investigating a dog attack in the community of Thorncliffe that saw a woman and her Chihuahua injured.

Sharon Beaton, 61, was walking her dog Daisy near her home around 7 p.m. on Aug. 22 when she says two dogs attacked them from behind.

"I was screaming at the top of my lungs," she said. "They had her. Their mouths were just snapping, big teeth, I just remember her face and her screeching."

Beaton struggled with the dogs, which she believes were pit bulls, but said they were relentless.

She says one latched onto her hand and the other clung to Daisy.

"From there on, it was just fighting them off."

Pit bulls in B.C. pet mauling tested positive for meth, cocaine, says city

Three pit bulls involved in a deadly attack on another dog last month in Kamloops, B.C., tested positive for methamphetamine and cocaine, and the city is going to court to have them put down.

Beatty said the city is going to provincial court to get authorization to destroy the animals, and no charges have been brought against their owner by police or the SPCA.

I'm categorically against giving pit bulls meth and coke.

I don't get it. We get politicians banning stuff like plastic bags and straws at the drop of a hat, but when there's hard data showing one specific dog breed is responsible for 66% of all fatal attacks on humans there's never any serious debate at higher levels. Banning the breeding of pitbulls seems like a pretty simple first step that would have real measurable results and would save lives, why the #### is it such a taboo topic at any level of government?

The Pit Bull Owners Lobbying group must be even more powerful than the Bilderbergs.

The 2 breeds below pit bull are exactly what you'd expect them to be as well. Crooks & Castles types love their Rottweilers too, if they cant get a Pit.

I blame stupid Caesar Milan and him humanizing pitbulls.

Also he is not that great. Couldn't even get a shiba to recall.

So basically, when you use dogs bred to fight and guard as pets, these dogs sometimes act exactly as they're bred to do and people get hurt....shocking.

It's America, so it was probably a black lab, and the police just placed a gun next to its paws.

Sorry, that was offside.

Dogs out there living the high life while I grind the 9-5. And then they throw it all away! For shame.

I know BC changed their laws to allow 'open use' but this is ridiculous!

Where did the dogs even get the money? Drugs are expensive!

Bringing in a bylaw to ban pitbulls wouldn’t be that hard. Enforcing a ban is another matter.

If they'd stop giving them out for free with every neck tattoo purchased we could probably get a handle on this.

Pitbulls are banned. *easy*
Being caught with a Pitbull results in a $100k fine. *also easy and effective*
