Fedex delivery.
2 things ordered from the same place at the same time yesterday. Both "out for delivery" this morning. One arrived today. The other didn't and now shows an "exception".
My guess is the driver missed the smaller package until he had already left the area, and is now pretending it was some sort of processing error. I also love how the business pays for overnight shipping... but it just doesn't happen.
I hate Fedex so much. This happens so often to me.

Yeah I find FedEx has been the least reliable for me. I've had overnight packages delivered to the wrong address and the local FedEx ground depot sits on packages that are early for one or two days to stick with the original estimated date rather than delivery early like Canada Post or UPS. They used to be the most reliable in my experience but things have changed with them for the worse.

Noise pollution from vehicles is particularly bad in Lethbridge. Just as soon as the snow and ice are gone from the roads the kids with their crotch rockets and modded imports are out making as much noise as they can.
On Street Machine weekend the noise is extra, but somehow I can appreciate it on that weekend. A good ol' American muscle burning out and revving the engine has something special to it. What gets me is kids driving their cars that they modify to produce as much noise as possible is what gets me. There is a few of them that just backfire non-stop... what is the point?

I dont live in Lethbridge, but I used to go down for the street wheelers weekend, that is such a blast! So many cool cars, drag racing on the runway, the 100 foot shootout! I have so many great stories of that.
But the thing about Lethbridge is...man alive does sound carry in that place! Its like a big ol' Echo Chamber.
Between the valley and the wind its like everything is louder in Bridge town.

Street Wheelers is still my favorite weekend. There is something about the rev of an engines vibrating in your chest, the sound of tires screeching with the rumbling of the engines and the smell of petroleum and tires on the pavement. Not all pleasant sounds and smells but put them together on that weekend it it's just fun.
Last year Our Lady Peace had an outdoor concert at the Enmax Cenre (I won't call it by it's new ridiculous name) and I could hear it about a block away from my house (halfway between the lake and the Enmax). So we decided to deviate from our normal walking path and walk along Coutts highway and Mayor Magrath to catch it... being much closer would make it much easier to hear, right? Nope. The noise of traffic killed it, but the sound of the concert did carry towards my neighborhood.

The street wheelers weekend is so much fun, yeah theres the noise and everything, but you signed up for it!
The first time I went I was one of the guys on the side of the road with some buddies and a cooler of beer and then I was determined to be in it. So I was for a few years.
I always enjoyed it. So much fun and the people! Just some of the nicest, down-to-earth gearheads you could ask for.
So many stories!

I feel so old for doing so, but I've started chirping performance tuners when they post videos online promoting their ECU tunes and they contain faux pops and bangs / crackle tuning. That crap makes the vehicle sound like a broken clapped-out piece (and is to the detriment of performance).
There was a point when I had considered installing a mild catback on the Range Rover for a little more burble, and then I realized I really, really enjoy how relaxed and quiet it is when cruising along... now I'm considering buying some Dynamat and adding extra soundproofing inside.

I'll take burble over drone. It seems so many exhaust manufacturers keep with the bigger is better mantra with all these 3" exhausts that drone endlessly at cruising speeds.

It would be nice if the city could communicate things better. My street sweeping is scheduled for May 7 but today the city was nice enough to sweep our alley. If course no one knew this was going to happen so there were bins in the way and a few folks had their cars parked along fences. Basically the sweeper only managed to go down the center of the alley and overall did a less than half assed job.

I suspect they do stuff like that at the end of a route when they still have capacity, so they fill up quickly and go unload. Then on street cleaning day they have less bulk and can cover more roads before needing to go unload.

I was rushing and ordered to total opposite sub on the app from subway. Misread it somehow. They are gross enough as is but this cucumber lettuce spinach sub with cheddar cheese and green peppers and feta was tough to choke down.

Except that, according to their schedule, they weren't even sweeping anywhere near my neighborhood today.

Sometimes the City of Calgary's infrastructure policy is beyond stupid and getting stupider. You see this with various projects currently happening in the Beltline, Marda Loop and others.
They are currently reducing parking on 1 side of the street and installing separated bike lanes on 14th & 15th Ave SW from 14 Street to Macleod Trail. We are talking about hundreds if not a 1000+ parking stalls. I don't have an issue with bike lanes when done properly but do we need them on both avenues? Can we minimize parking disruptions for visitors, businesses and residence?
Districts like 17th Ave SW are destination areas for people within the city but it's important for people to have actual dedicated parking spaces somewhere. You minimize the searching for parking. There are SO many cool examples all over the world where you can have walkability, cycling options, closed to car traffic while also allowing visitors, businesses and residences the ability move around easily and flourish. We get these weird designs here.
