Should they lose the election, the lesson the CPC should learn is if you lie down with dogs, you get fleas. Instead they’ll chalk it up to unforeseen antagonism from Trump and refuse any internal reform or soul searching.

"We only lost because of Trump. He won't be around next time, so we need to double down on our principles."
The only way they change is by getting out the sod remover and replanting the grass roots to not be run by insane people. Unfortunately insane people aren't fond of relinquishing grip. I'm not sure they can be removed without some huge organized effort from sane people to re-establish control of all the local committees.
You can see exactly where they are headed by referencing the UCP and their trajectory. I wouldn't be surprised if the next major move is to merge with the PPC and take on their policies. Then the only way out of this is for a new Progressive Conservative party to be born, and eventually sideline this clown show.

The issue is that the UCP and proposed PP government do have some good ideas and do do some good things, and people vote for that. But both governments latch onto the craziest ideas and latch on to them for the support of the minority and that's what drives people crazy.

Are you willing to enlighten me on the UCP policies that have been deemed good. I know there must be a few but my understanding is that most of what they touch melts down like Homer Simpson in the simulator test truck.
Seriously their track record must be at 85-90% horrible/cruel.

Sure, and we also need to change governments out which is why it is so important to have viable Conservative parties in this country. The answer isn't to shrug your shoulders and vote for the crazies, it's to sideline them until Conservatives figure out their ####.

It would depend on your point of view obviously and how much you like privitazation. It's definitely a government for the upper-middle class. If you're in that bracket, more privatization would be seen as favorable. It's kind of saying the quiet parts outloud.
The Registry:
Got rid of license plate stickers, it's now online
Got rid of advance GDL test
Discount for seniors
Corporate tax cut from 12% to 8%
People like the new daycare rates coming in April. Unform flat rate across the board. I have friends who have kids in daycare, their rates cut in half next month.
My kids are too old now, I paid too much for daycare 5 years ago.
Some privatization of health care, pay small amounts for certain services.
The push for more private schools, some would like that.
And the controversial trans in schools, parents should know. Again, the quiet part outloud, parents want to know.
So yeah, if you're not for privatization at all, this all sucks.

Wtf? No governor Mark Carney?
Maybe it really all was just that he didn't like Trudeau.

The Conservatives are trying to be that. People like some of their policies on crime, immigration, housing, investment in Canada etc...
But the toxicity that also comes out of their mouths is overshadowing all this and you're right, everyone's has a line and it looks like that line has been drawn and PP is losing so much support his party might not get 100 seats when it was projected to be 2000 3 months ago. They are being sidelined.
If PP gets less seats then both Scheer and O'Toole, that's a clear message sent.

Somewhere in Conservative HQ PP is raging at how well this Trump call seems to have gone for Carney.
Quote:
U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday that he had an ‘extremely productive call’ with Prime Minister Mark Carney and expects to meet with him in person.
“I just finished speaking with Prime Minister Mark Carney, of Canada. It was an extremely productive call, we agree on many things, and will be meeting immediately after Canada’s upcoming Election to work on elements of Politics, Business, and all other factors, that will end up being great for both the United States of America and Canada,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
