I doubt it.

Yeah you can argue the Flames have nobody worth protecting but that’s another story

What why? What forward would that cost them? Might not be worth even asking
Lucic over Neal is an obvious win, the problem is Neal in the first place

Excuse me for not feeling the Lucic love

No way
Likelihood Tre is turfed is so low
Likelihood Maloney survives a Tre turfing is low on top of that

In the very remote chance Treliving is turfed, Maloney won’t be the current Flame employee taking over.

Who else would it be? On an interim basis. Conroy?

I would expect if Treliving is fired the team may consult Darryl regarding candidates. I don't think he's worked with Maloney so I'm not sure if he would rather work with someone else. I have to admit Conny being GM to Darryl would be pretty interesting.

Previous GM experience.
Took a team to the finals in his first full year as GM.
Has strong relationship with the owners.
I’m kidding. Mostly.

I know you are kidding, but when Sutter was hired last month he sure did not sound like he wanted the GM job, based on several of the things he said.

Feaster was adamant he wasn’t brought in to blow it up
So..... maybe you need to apply a critical lens when evaluating the statements of public figures

Fair, but Bennett has a similar problem to Monahan in that they both lack separation speed with the puck or the ability to shield the puck with their body. If Sam Bennett was 6’4, 220, it would probably help him in that respect. I think if both players had at least one of these elements, it would help elevate their games.

No he didn’t. But neither did Burke I suppose.
Hard to imagine Sutter saying no if owners asked him.
But yeah I don’t really see it happening.

When you go back to a lower level, you notice things in the game you never noticed before. You try some of things you saw work in the higher level. You find a way to replace the things you used to do that clearly won't work anymore.
Most of all, you have an extra half-second for nearly everything. Instead of being a quarter second behind the play, you find the flow again.
Reps. Time. Freedom to make some mistakes that aren't in front of 19k people and cost 2 pts in the important standings.
They weren't in different stages until about a month ago...

So with Sam Bennett playing most of his career on the 3rd and 4th line, wouldn’t he be playing against similar competition in the AHL? He’d without a doubt be a top liner in the minors, so wouldn’t he be going up against the likes of Alan Quine and the Byron Froeses of the hockey world anyway? What’s the difference if he does it in the NHL vs the AHL? The ice is the same, the dimensions are the same.
We can agree to disagree, but I don’t think a cup of tea in the AHL is the difference between him being a top 6 forward vs whatever he is now. I think it would’ve helped out his confidence, but that would’ve went up in smoke the second he took an offensive zone penalty and got benched. I think it’s pretty simple at this point, he’s a great playoff performer, but a poor a regular season player.

One scary thing is, when you factor in the current roster built by and also the teams cupboard of prospects under the watch of BT, how many teams in the NHL can one say is worse? Roster and prospects overall.
Arizona
Columbus
San Jose
Who else if any? Yes, for example Pittsburgh’s prospects are certainly worse for example, but their current roster is better. So, besides those three teams, I am not sure who would swap.
