Villar missed Guerrero by 20 feet on the relay from Gurriel.

Is it a lack of focus with him? WAY too many sloppy plays

Vladdy is at a 54.5 ground ball percentage coming into this game. That's up from last year. The thing is he was sitting around 47-50% through the minors, so I guess this shouldn't be surprising.

By giving Ryu the extra day off before today's game, he will not be available for the Yankee series.

Having said that though, he hasn't had a lot of success against them. Still, he is their ace, and the 7 remaining games will decide the standings.

If he pitches yesterday, he would have faced the Yankees twice more. By pitching today, he will only face them once in the 7 games.

That swing right there is the difference for Grichuk this season. Last year he would have tried to pull that outside pitch and rolled over it.

He has been taking a lot of first pitches, which seem to be strikes every time. It seems like he is 0-2, and batting defensively, every time at the plate.

They did discuss this at the start of the game, but Ryu said he needed the extra day. But on the bright side, we do get him in the doubleheader and against the Yankees the next time out. ALso, if desperate, he could go on short rest in the season finale if needed.

I am a proponent of bunts in certain situations, and I am fine with bunting for base hits, but those bunts weren't even good efforts.

It also looks like he is flying open which means he isn't swuaring up the ball. He needs to keep the front side closed and stay through the ball. He is strong enough that he doesn't need a max effort swing like Bichette to hit it out.
