The City sells its recycled materials. Source: http://www.calgary.ca/UEP/WRS/Pages/...t-Success.aspx

I did hear it was a developer doing/paying their promised roadway upgrade after building the community and not necessarily the City that was doing it, but honestly I have no idea.

Typically they wait a year and pave the second and final layer. This allows for settling, especially when there was any earthworks. But do contact 311.

Uh, why should they get sued? You too can make a personal tshirt with any logo or image on it. It's not like they're selling these shirts. This falls under fair dealing in Canadian copyright law.

This. So much emphasis is put on by far the least simportant of the three "R"s.
I'd like to see the city implement a city wide "reduction" program.

So, I'm hesitant to celebrate this, as it has been a seemingly unnecessarily drawn out process, but it looks like the Dalhousie-Shagannappi waling bridge is finally done! Am I able to walk on this thing now?
After seeing the city work tirelessly for a few hours every couple weeks on this project, I'm sure it is a relief for all those 5 people that this is finally done.

The bridge is set to open at 10am tomorrow (Saturday). Not sure what sort of ceremony if any there will be. It really has been a slow process.

Not sure if anyone else is familiar with the intersection on Country Hills Blvd. right near Empire studios / Canadian Tire / Home Depot near Centre St / Harvest Hills Blvd, but that pedestrian crosswalk is one place that totally needs a flashing pedestrian sign. I've seen about 4 or 5 accidents on there where people brake last second for pedestrians about to cross, and they get rear ended by the car behind them. Just saw one again a week ago.
I really don't understand how that cross walk has not gotten one for so many years. It's kind of dangerous for both pedestrians crossing and cars stopped. When you come down the hill, you really don't see the crosswalk until the last second.

I drive there, but didn't know there was a pedestrian crossing over Country Hills without lights.?
If there is an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing over Country Hills that would just be dumb.

Dumb indeed, I'd be caught off guard too.
Yen Man, have you complained to 311?

Best way to get this on the books is to first call 311 and ask that a pedestrian sign be put in. I would then follow up with your Councillor if you feel it needs to be given a higher priority.

$120 for three shirts and printing. Design was free and I went to Rocket on the weekend. The expense will show up on the mayor's regular expense reports later this year. http://calgarymayor.ca/stories/tag/expenses/

What's the deal with all those big stickers with the hand that appeared on all the taxis in the city within the last couple of weeks?
I saw Nenshi tweeted something that he was the hand model for it. I didn't see any explanation of what they're for, and the text on them is too small to read when you're driving past one.

I am aware of how typical construction works but its nowhere close to being ready for just a paving, which it should be. Before any paving could happen they will undoubtedly still need to solve grading issues and do some digging to fix a couple of areas. That and the lane size issues...it honestly looks like it was done without any plans or elevation surveying.

Are there any updates on St. Patrick's Island? If I'm not mistaken it was supposed to open this weekend? Is that happening or has it been pushed back? With the great forecast for the weekend it would be a perfect time to check out the new park especially the beach and swimming hole.
