According to the Canada West Foundation, 80 per cent of the projects currently within the federal review process required a clock stoppage for reasons that included the pandemic, additional time for Indigenous consultation and ballooning requirements for information from proponents.
This meant that though the Impact Assessment Agency consistently met its legislated deadline of 180 days, with clock stoppages it took projects an average of 332 days to complete Phase 1.

If its the proponents asking for a stop clock, its hard to blame the government. Without stoppages the agency is meeting its 180 day deadline.

You're ignoring a huge part of that statement, where they are requesting stop clocks to deal with overwhelmingly restrictive and impactful requirements to consult with basically everyone and their mother on the route. The other party has to agree to that consultation, and has a part to play in the reporting of that consultation. Companies are forced to stop the clock when that other party refuses to meet or play their role in the consultation, in order to perserve their regulatory application and not have the period lapse. Further, this ignores that the approval gets to go for a ministerial decision, with no required statutory timeline. The black box is Stephen Guilbeault's desk.

Was pointed to this story from the Breakdown VIA Reddit Edmonton- This article has now generated a 6 million dollar lawsuit by the medical supply company that provided the early low quality PPE supplies to the Kenney government, and are also related the the "Turkish Tylenol" from last year.
If true, WOW. Long but worth a read for sure. Apologies if it has been posted previously

Shameless grifting, wasted money and incompetence. Sadly nothing will come from this, but they should probably all be in prison. Our premier should definitely be in prison. I'd be OK with Mars, too though.

This was the shock report that came out in October - the one the breakdown was teasing for months, and the one even David Parker referred to in his, then, lack of support for DS and co.
It completely passed by with minimal blowup. But this lawsuit may be a Streisand effect

The youtube video deep diving into this was posted a couple times way back. The video is about the gifted hockey suite but goes all the way back to the beginning.

Was it these guys that were supposed to drop some sort of huge bombshell in the fall about the government which I don't believe ever actually happened? These teased about something very damning and it was either way overblown or they didn't tell us what it was.

I guess it depends on your views of cronyism, corruption, and embezzlement of taxpayer money amoungst the highest members of the UCP while ####ing over healthcare workers and sick Albertans with substandard ####e. I suspect for most, it's a shoulder shrug. "All politicians are corrupt! They all do this! The Libralllls!"

The heartland of Alberta-first, pro-American sentiment has always been rural southern Alberta, a region that was settled by 600k American immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th century.
So maybe Albertans who fret about unassimilated immigrants are looking in the wrong place. By the second generation, immigrants to NE Calgary almost all adopt Canadian norms. Meanwhile, the great-grandchildren of immigrants from Oklahoma, Ohio, and Texas still cling to old allegiances and cultural values, and don’t seem to have reconciled themselves to being Canadian.

Smith is working on screwing them over with coal mines, so they might not be on that side much longer. Conservatives begging for environmental protections wasn't on my bingo card, but it could contribute to her downfall.

That report even caused quite a stir in gov. Several people had to take leaves of absence and Marshall Smith's career was limited by it.
But, ultimately, the voting base seemed not to care? I guess? I don't know it's actually very troubling to me, especially as I also operated a medical device business during the pandemic and was constantly warring against Vansch ####ty quality face masks.

Ya, I know another company that already had production, had supplies AHS already buys and uses, and tried to get that contract. I think they even intended to bring the machinery from China to make them in Alberta(though I could be mis-remebering that bit). They were basically ignored. Which makes it seem like this scheme was already well underway.

They don't care about corruption when its their own team; albeit, every party supporter is kind of like that
