Casper Ruud brought the Shapo run in Stockholm to an end beating Denis 6-3 6-4 in the semi-finals. Still, a pretty good week for Denis overall.

Felix off to a good start taking the opening set in a tie-break versus Jiri Lehecka. High quality match from both guys thus far, Felix just upped his level nicely in the tie-break.

Felix had two championship points (1 on his serve), but was not able to convert and Lehecka forces a 3rd set winning set 2 in a tie-break. Jiri came up with the goods when needed most late in that tie-break.

Felix plays a great return game and breaks Lehecka and is serving at 3-1 in set 3.
Edit: Consolidates with little trouble. Serving very well today, but also the groundies have been excellent as well.

One more service hold is all Felix needs to match Milos with most career ATP titles for a Canadian.

Felix!! Breaks to take the Brussels title. What a great week of tennis from FAA as he charges towards a potential spot in the ATP Finals.

Just a reminder that after losing his first 8 ATP Finals matches, Felix has won 8 of his last 11 ATP Finals matches. As mentioned above, now tied with Milos for the most ATP titles by a Canadian, a fantastic 2025 season and you know he's hungry to make the ATP Finals.
Next up, a quick trip to Basel to take on fellow Canadian Gabriel Diallo in the Swiss Indoors tourney.

Taken from Hugh Clarke's excellent A Thread of Order...
The serve and forehand are the shots that FAA lives and dies by, but more recently he’s also been doing an excellent job weaving in shield-worthy backhand performances, and forehand drop shots.
The Felix backhand is never going to be a shot that generates winners, but as long as it isn't a major liability and he can stay in rallies, it will certainly help his chances of winning against the top guys. Also, I mentioned his serve was fantastic yesterday, but I didn't know it was that good.

Leylah dropped her first three matches versus Maria Sakkari, but she beat her in straight sets at the China Open last month and just now was victorious again in straight sets although it was a very close 7-6 6-4 decision for Leylah. Up next, Elena Rybakina.

Good news: Victoria Mboko won her first match since winning the WTA 1000 event in Montreal
Bad news: She won over Bianca Andreescu 6-3 6-3.
Epilogue: Vicky and Bianca then teamed up to win a doubles match.

So Oikos goes to the Six Kings Slam for a huge guaranteed payday, loses his match, registers to play in Vienna, and then pulls out of his opening round match versus Musetti citing some kind of injury. What a flake this guy has turned out to be.

By the way, due to the unfortunate injuries to both Jack Draper and more recently Holger Rune last week and their inability to defend ranking points, Felix is now once again a top 10 player as live rankings has him at #10

That was a really good match between Shapo and Marcus Giron just now - The usual Denis roller-coaster was on full display, but he showed that he can have shot tolerance at times especially in the 3rd set tie-break as Shapo advances 6-7 6-0 7-6(3).

Mensik vs. Fonseca is on tap for Wednesday in Basel - It's not at the same level as Sinner vs. Alcaraz, but it's still intriguing.

Felix gets by his countryman Gabriel Diallo 6-2 7-5 in Basel and will face Marin Cilic in the next round. Not a great match from either Gabe of Felix to be honest, but Felix was certainly better today and full deserving of the victory.
