I didn’t watch a lot of the games early in the season, but I remember reading on here about how different the Jays looked in terms of small ball, minor details, manufacturing runs this season etc.

Recently when I have watched there is none of that. Swinging away, stranding them standing.

Have they reverted back to power drives or bust baseball?

It’s a long season, but truly this is what I feared with certain guys in the lineup focused on defence. I will stay quiet because it’s opportunistic talking to it during a game like this but before bringing any person the prerequisite should have been you must be able to get on base. The secondary part was they have to be good defensively. Not defensively first for an OF position, then hope for some offence.

They don’t hit HRs anymore nor play small ball

They just strike out and hit into double plays with guys on !

Jays record against the AL East is what concerns me the most. They're 4-8 so far. Could be 4-9 if they can't find a way to win tonight. That's not ok if you want to contend.

Like I get Bichette is your best hitter. But late in a game where you have a chance to snap a skid, man on second no outs, would the play not be get the runner over to third so your power guy can maybe sac fly him home?

An unbelievable performance by your starter. 2 innings away with a fresh Romano in bullpen.

Just sacrifice a little and gameplan for the single run.

Nope. Swing away boys.

Bichette probably hasn’t bunted since he was 5. Bunting isn’t actually easy if you don’t do it a lot .

Yeah. The old Royals would’ve done the small ball game that late to generate a run. It’s a coaching decision.

Phew. Mayza got screwed a couple of time with bad calls but finally got one at the end there.

Calling the Jays bats. Time to do something. Anything.

That’s what it looks like when a guy who doesn’t bunt tries to

A last name. That’s all. It’s the only reason he hasn’t been DFA.
