Very much so.

Mostly becuase I understand the reality that you can't actually jinx things, and also that it would send a few into a tizzy.

I mean now you've actually made it a certainty that we're going to get like 20cm next week.

I invite you to make a voodoo doll and have your revenge on me. I'll even make it simple, go grab a pickle from the fridge. There, Fuzz doll.

Pulled car out, been out several times now. Motorcycle coming out on Friday. Winters coming off on Friday.

#### it, life is way to damn short to live in winter mode >50% of it.

I lived there for 21 years, who could even argue that?

One of the more difficult things about Calgary in regards to winter tires is that winter weather is always a possibility in spring and fall. You don't want to be caught in a big spring snow storm with your summer tires on but at the same time the fear of what may come leads you to burning off the tread of your winter tires in spring like weather. If you are like me driving a tire eating car like a Tesla, you wait for that promising long range forecast, make the change and cross your fingers. That said I see rain/snow in the long range forecast so I'm not tempting fate.

There's no question it's too early based on every prior year ever.

If people can't drive in a bit of snow from March to October with all season tires they should not be driving at all.

Yeah, but if you own winter tires why would you take them off before winter is over lol? And March is when we get most of our snow and April we average between 5 and 22 centimeters ffs. It's not like it saves you any time and the wear is honestly negligible for most people.

Not every all season tire is created equally. We have low rolling resistance AS on one of our vehicles and they are absolute garbage when it comes to the least bit of snow or ice. My mom has performance AS tires for her vehicle and I'm actually surprised they can even label those as all season based on the tread design and tire compound.

Yeah, you need not look far to find the absolute crap for tires being peddled on Kijiji these days. I would not want people to be rolling around on all-seasons just yet unless they actually bought good ones.

Here's a review of a reference all-season, the Continental PremiumContact 7, against eight 'budget' all-season tires.

And those results are in wet and dry spring conditions, forget sub 7°C cold or snowy conditions.

Yeah that part in the video where he just loses control and spins out on a wet track makes it frightening to know that there are regular people driving around on those cheap tires. It's clear the the technology used for wet traction is where the dollars are saved with these budget tires.

I work part of the time in S. Carolina, when it starts raining hard you see a decent number of cars getting squirrelly on the freeway.
