As for Shapo, we're now seeing why Felix was thought more highly. Denis might have a ceiling that is as high, but he also has a much lower floor. Still think he'll win a major or several, but he'll also have stretches where he really struggles.

Clay and grass are less stressful on the body than playing on hard courts. I would keep 3 clay masters events, remove the Paris ATP 1000 event (they dont need 2 major tennis events) and make a grass ATP 1000 event after Wimbledon, maybe in Germany? Everyone wins

Federer on Chatrier tomorrow and Nadal on Lenglen. Last year he had to play a match on that court as well, just seems weird that 11 time champion isn't automatically on center.

You never know, this might be Fed's last French Open appearance.

Forget whether it's his final French or not, he's the biggest star in the history of the sport, and maybe all sports. Events goal is still to make money and make the fans happy. No offense, but Nadal isn't even close when it comes to a draw. There's probably a lot of apathy to him at the French, it's been a forgone conclusion for close to 15 years. The crowds are only full for the Final and for Roger or French players. Just how it is.

I doubt it, I think he wants to play Olympics next year plus he's still really really good (#2 in the World right now).

There are already more than 20 clay tournaments available to play on the calendar throughout the season. How many more are needed?
Watching the same clay rats go at it for 6-8 weeks straight is just beyond monotonous and this is why there are only three masters 100 events. I'm pretty hardcore and by the time Rome comes around I've completely lost interest every season. Combine that with the fact the French Open killed the entire event this year with that joke of a Nadal draw and you've got a completely flaccid major on hand.
Best case is that you kill two weeks of the clay season and add on to the grass circuit. At least you've at least got yourself more balance to the schedule and a change of pace from the non-stop slog fest that is every May/June.

Can't control who you play. Going to be a tough match for Nadal, he will have to be at his best to get through the 2017 ATP Tour Finals runner up.

Stan the Man with a nice win today at Roland Garros (straight sets victory over the young Chilean kid Garin who has been tearing it up on the dirt this year).

You mean current world number 31 David Goffin? What's next, "former world number 8 Janko Tipsarevic"?
If I hadn't read some of your other posts, I would think you were trolling us.

Speaking of people not wanting to watch Nadal play, perfect summary of his slow play. He and Roger both won in straights today, Roger actually played 14 more points and his opponent won four more games, yet his match was thirty-three minutes faster than Nadal's. It's crazy how even in a blowout, with a layup draw, Nadal still can't help but play slow. He golfs a lot too, he's probably unbearable to play behind.

I'm pretty sure your one of the few who don't like to watch Nadal play, last year all the best matches involved him. Whether you like him or not, there is no denying the man gives you entertaining matches.

I'm pretty sure Nadal picks his ass more in a single match than I have my entire life. Entertaining indeed.
