Annnnnnd it's canceled. Apparently only 1/3 of tickets were sold, which makes it hard to turn a profit when you're allegedly paying Metallica and Linkin Park $5 million each (!!!) to appear.

It's too much bands for just one day and from what I understand the lineups to get in took so long last year that many that arrived early still missed the opening acts as the sets are pretty short.

Last year's Sick New World had a ton of bad reviews, hot as hell on the asphalt, expensive water, stages too close together, scheduling mixups. Linkin Park as a headliner is awful, 1 original member and they were barely passable back in the day.

I don’t care if they sell more tickets. They wouldn’t have to without those huge stains on the books, and I’d get to see Refused in peace.

As long as Dax brings Acid Bath somewhere by Calgary then it's all good.

Anyone that's enjoyed past Opeth albums prior to Heritage should check out The Last Will & Testament. The growls are back and while it's not Blackwater Park or Ghost Reveries, it's still really good as nobody else has ever been as good as fusing death metal with prog rock.

Nicko McBrain is retiring from Iron Maiden after 42 years. He had a stroke about two years ago and went out on the road while recovering.

Sounds pretty good. I thought their last album was kind of fun.

Gojira won. Rightly so, everything else would have felt wrong.

I started listening to them after watching Tank the Tech's vlogs about working for them and enjoyed their energy and that they seemed like pretty aweseome people and really dig their music as well.

They check a lot of boxes for me. I've always been partial to metal bands that try new things within the genre, and EC's mix of techno and metalcore is fantastic. I also like that they're not afraid to have fun, so many metal bands (and fans) take themselves way too seriously
